Leilani's POV

I wonder who that girl is. She's been hanging around Jake a lot lately.
I mean, not that I care. I'm just saying.

"Leilani, focus." Kobe said to me. I looked at him and back to my math work.

"I can't. I can't Kobe. It's too hard." I stress.
We're at lunch and I'm hungry. I don't want to learn about this.

"Leilani, you're going to fail if you don't try." He tells me softly. I nod my head.

"I know, but I feel dumb doing this. Everyone in my class understands and I just sit there like a lost puppy. It keeps getting harder and harder. I hate this!" I say to him. I get up and walk out of the cafeteria.

I walk out and sit on the bench. I run my hands through my thick curls and I let out a deep breath.

"You okay?" I hear someone ask.
I jump and look up to see Noah.

"Yeah. I'm fine." I say standing up.

"Doesn't look like it." He says walking closer to me.

Don't. Don't Leilani. Don't!

"Hey, it's okay." He said pulling me to him. I tried so hard not to cry. But it didn't work.

"Everything is gonna be okay." He told me as he rubbed my back.
I wiped my face and tried to stop crying.

"What's wrong?" He asked calmly as we sat back on the bench.

"Math. Math is a b*tch." I say. He chuckled and nodded.

"Yeah." He agreed.

"If I don't make it to high school. Math is gonna be why." I say to him.

"You're not gonna fail. I'll do you're homework." Noah tells me. I laugh and push him.

"You can't take the tests for me." I tell him. He smirks.

"We can cheat." He says. I shake my head.

"I'm not cheating." I say with a serious face.

"Eh," He says with a shrug. "It was worth the try." He says. I giggle at his craziness.

"Thanks." I say to Noah. He nods.

"Anytime." He says getting up.
He started to walk away but he turned back to me.

"Do you still have my jacket?" He asked. I nodded.

"It's in my locker, come on." I say getting up.
He followed me to my locker and I opened it.

I pulled out the black adidas jacket and handed it to him.

"Thanks." He said with a smile.

"No, thank you." I say to him. He laughed and started to walk backwards.

"See ya later alligator." He tells me.
