Leilani's POV

"Oh come on! You make no sense!" Nick yells at Jake.
I swear. Those three boys are always arguing.

"Can y'all shut up? I can't think past y'all yelling." I say to them.

I was trying to open my locker, but the stupid thing is broken. And I'm stressing because of that text Kobe sent me. I told my mom and she talked to Kobe's mom.
She said that the police are doing everything they can, but yet he's still missing.

"What's up with you?" Nick asked me.
I shook my head and punched the locker.

"Open you dumb sh*thead!" I yell at the locker.

"Leilani!" Jake says. I look at him and they all are eyeing me.

"What?" I ask them as I turn back to my locker.

"You good?" Patrick asks me.

"I'm fine." I say. I punch the locker again and it opens.

"Yes!" I say with a smile as I put my things in it.

I close it and we head to gym.

"You're acting weird." Nick tells me.
I roll my eyes.

"I'm fine." I say to him.

"You sure?" He asks me. These questions!!!

"Yes! I'm sure geeze!" I say as I walk into the locker rooms. I change quickly and walk back out.

I see Jake waiting on me.

"You didn't have to wait." I tell him.
He shrugs and walks up to me.

Then he hugged me.
I was confused then I just went with it.

I hugged him back and just let out a deep breath.

He lets me go and smiles at me.

My phone vibrates and I pull it out.

Kobe: are you okay?

Me: I'm stressed. But other than that I'm fine why?

I put my phone in my pocket and we walked into the gym.

"Why do you talk to Kobe after what he did?" Jake asks me as we sit in the bleachers. I sit one row below him.

"Because he apologized." I say simply.

"But he put his hands on you." He says.

"I know. But I forgave him. And I've moved on." I say to him.

"So what? When he comes back from hiding y'all are gonna be best of friends?" He asks with a slight attitude.

"No." I say scrunching up my eyebrows.

"Because I can just see it. You forget about us and run back to Kobe. Oh I missed you so much!" He says trying to sound like me in the end. I just looked at him crazy. He sounds so ridiculous.
