"Sometimes it's work just to be alive."
- Tim Bowman JrKobe's POV
"Hurry up!" I snapped at Leilani for the tenth time.
"Can you stop yelling before I go back? I don't have to do this." She snapped back.
I stopped and turned to her.
"Go back then! I didn't force you to come! I asked and you agreed. I don't need you! I can do this by myself. He's my brother anyways. If you want to leave, f*cking leave! I don't care!" I yell at her.
Her eyes flashed with hurt, before it went away and her face hardened.
I noticed she didn't move, so I took that as she'll stay.
I walked in front of the Mitchell's house before letting out a sigh.
I walked up to the door, Leilani trailing behind me.
I knocked three times, before the door swung open, revealing Ms Alana.
Her eyes widened and she pulled us both into a hug and started crying.
I glanced at Leilani, who was already looking at me.
I couldn't read her eyes like usual, it was like she was locking me out.
She wasn't letting me in anymore.
Hesitantly, I averted my gaze away from her and onto Ms Alana.
She let us go and put a hand on my cheek, and a hand on Leilani's.
"We've been worried sick for almost over half a year. Where were you guys?" She asked us as she pulled us to the living room after closing the front door.
"We were safe, I got injured so we were staying with a doctor." I explained to her.
She sighed and nodded before pulling Leilani into a hug.
"Are you okay? Is anything broken?" She asked Leilani before she abruptly stopped talking.
Her eyes went wide.
"You're walking!!! Oh my God!" She screamed like a teenager at a Taylor swift concert.
Leilani laughed lightly.
"Dr Seth, the doctor we were staying with, he did surgery on me and now I can walk. He put something in my back, he told me, but I wasn't paying attention. You wanna see?" She asked her mom.
Ms Alana nodded fast and Leilani stood up.
She turned around before lifting the back of her shirt, revealing her rose tattoo down the middle of her back.
"Is that a tattoo?!" She yelled even louder.
I chuckled and Leilani turned around after putting her shirt down."Yes, but it's only so people won't ask about the metal line down my back. Don't worry mommy." She told her.
