I Can Explain

Leilani's POV
(Next Friday)

"Hey Lani." I heard Noah say. I looked up at him and he smiled at me.

Be nice. Just play it cool.

"Hey Noah." I respond forcing a smile.
He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and it didn't feel right.
He's leading me me on.

We started to walk down the hallway and we were walking towards a girl. She looked familiar. Then I realized, that's the girl from the video.

I look up at Noah who was smirking at her. She rolled her eyes playfully as we walked by.

I felt a weird feeling in my stomach as I looked down. It's either hurt or jealousy.
Or both.

I felt someone looking at me. I looked up and saw Luke walking towards me.

He looked sadder than he's ever been. He walked towards me and I opened my arms, making Noah's arm fall from my shoulder.
Luke hugged me and I rubbed his back.

"It's gonna be okay. I tell him. He squeezed me tighter.

"I know." He said lowly.
He let go of me and one of his eyebrows raised.

"What's wrong with you?" He asked me.
I looked back at Noah who was smirking while looking on his phone.

I turned back to Luke. He looked behind me and mouthed "oh"

He hugged me again.

"Come on. Let's go." He told me. I nodded and we left Noah. He didn't even notice. We went outside and Luke decided to come over and play games or something. I really didn't ask.

"Leilani!" Someone calls. I look behind me and see Noah running towards us. He had a huge smile on his face.

"Can I come over too?" He asked. I was about to respond when I saw the girl from earlier walk up behind him. She slid her hand in his and smiled at me. Noah looked like he didn't know what to do.

"Hey babe, what's up?" She asked him calmly.
I don't think she's one of those stuck up girls.
She seems nice and I don't want to be mean.

"Hey, and I was just talking to Lani and Luke." He said motioning towards us.

"Oh hi. I'm Madison." She tells us.

"Hi, I'm Leilani and this is Luke." I respond to her. She smiled and I looked back at Noah.

"Never mind. I forgot we're going out." Noah told me. I nodded. Sad, but relieved he wasn't coming over. He smiled lightly, before they turned around and left. I turned back around and tried to act like nothing effected me.

"Leilani" Luke started, but I shook my head telling him to stop.

"Just don't." I tell him as I walk to my moms car as she pulls up. Luke followed behind me and I got in.

"Hey hun." My mom said to me. I smiled lightly.

"Hey ma." I tried to act normal.
Luke got in and sat next to me.
