Helpless

Leilani's POV

I watch as my feet go up and back on this swing. In my backyard, we have a play set. We've had it for a long time but we upgraded so we can all fit now.

I heard the back door open and close. I looked up to see Kobe coming towards me. He looked upset. I just have to trust and believe that he's not gonna do anything.

"What did you say to Nick?" Kobe asked as he stood in front of the swings. I looked up at him and looked back down.

I didn't say anything to Nick. Why would I?
I had stopped swinging and looked back up at him.
He walked towards me and I got up.

"What did you say to him?" He asked again. He was in my face and honestly I wanted to run. So that's what I did. I ran back into the house and I heard him behind me. I ran up the stairs and closed my door. My dumb self didn't lock it.

I hear footsteps so I grabbed my phone and ran into my closet and locked the door. I kept the light off but I had my phone. I turned it on and unlocked it. I texted Jaden.

Me: come to my room quick!
Jaden: k.

Seconds later I heard him talking to Kobe.

"Where's Leilani?" Jaden asked. I didn't hear anything.

"Leilani?" I hear him call.

"I'm in here." I say. I still didn't hear anything. Then I heard a knock on the door. I jumped.

"Leilani open the door. It's Jaden." He told me. I got up slowly and opened the door.

I walked out and him and Kobe were looking at me.

"What's up?" He asked. I looked at Kobe and he raised his eyebrows with a warning look.

"I just messing with you." I said with a smile. He looked confused but then he smiled.

"You play too much." He said as he left the room. I looked at Kobe and he crossed his arms.

"Leilani don't play with me." He said. I was panicking. But I was saved by the bell.

"Leilani! Door!" I heard my mom yell. I ran passed Kobe and down the stairs.
I went to the door and I saw Noah standing out there.
I pushed him outside and across the street.

"Why are we studying at the pool?" Noah asked me. I laughed lightly.

"We're not going to the pool, we're going inside the building." I tell him. He nods.

"Okay but if you're going to pull me just hold my hand." He says. I let go of his arm and hold onto his hand.

He smirked down at me and I rolled my eyes.

"Good evening." The lady at the desk greeted us. I smiled and responded to her.

(While studying)

"You know, you're a good tutor to be "dumb"." Noah told me.

"Well if you had told me it was science I would've said yes the first time." I told him as I passed him the workbook back.
