She knew he was asleep.

She knew she shouldn't call him.

It was practically one in the morning as she tightly gripped the edge of the bed, trying to store away her horrific thoughts.

But it felt like they just had left.

In reality, those thoughts left almost two years ago. And when the therapist thought they were finally gone about a month ago, she lowered the prescription on the anti-depressants. That didn't help. The terrifying thoughts just came back in two weeks without any notice.

All she wanted to do was take the opportunity and leave it all behind. Just stand on the railing, let yourself fall onto the concrete, and leave it all. No one would miss you. Not even Adrien...

"No! Stop thinking like that Marinette!" Marinette whisper-yelled at herself, being careful as to not wake Tikki. "Of course Adrien would miss you. So would Alya, Nino, Tikki, and many others. I need to stop this."

But the pain could all be over.

Chloe's bullying had gotten worse, and she now had Lila as her ally. The two girls bullied Marinette until they were forced to leave as they either had to go, or someone came around.

Marinette rubbed her cheek where a fading bruise was. It was a result of a slap to the face from Chloe. She looked back to her bathroom, the door wide open and room almost pitch black. "I could just cut the pain away..." she mumbled to herself. She got up and stood at the top of the stairs before gripping the railing and sliding down it until she was sitting on one of the stairs. "No, no, no! Adrien wouldn't want me doing that, neither would Tikki. Just get your phone and call him." She told herself.

She got up and walked to her nightstand, picking up the phone and going up to her balcony so she wouldn't disturb Tikki. Once she got up there, the railing caught her eye. She bit her lip, knowing she shouldn't do. She slapped the side of her head lightly, forcing herself to sit down in the chair that was close to the trapdoor, turning on her phone and looking for Adrien contact.

She instantly pressed call when she found his contact, knowing 100% that he was sleeping and wouldn't pick up and she'd have to leave a voicemail. To no surprise, the phone rang and sent her to voicemail. She took a deep breath before speaking softly into the speaker. Ending the call once she was finished and placing her phone on a small table nearby, draping an arm across her face.

•At Adrien's•

Plagg woke up to the sound of Adrien's phone vibrating on the desk close by him. Thankful that it was only on silent and that it wasn't making any noise. He flew over to Adrien, pressing a little 'hand' against Adrien's temple. "Kid. You got a phone call. Kid!" He whispered, continuing to try and wake his miraculous holder up. Then the phone stopped vibrating and there was the notification of a new voicemail. "Kid...! You got a voicemail 'cause you didn't wake up to answer the phone! Get your butt up; I think it was Mari calling."

Adrien stirred when Plagg mentioned Marinette. "Oh, so now you start to wake up because I mentioned your girlfriend. Great."

"Plagg...? Was that seriously Mari?" Adrien asked drowsily, rubbing his eye slightly.

"Uh, yeah. I think so."

Adrien quickly got out of bed, walking over to his desk and picking up his phone, seeing the missed call notification and the new voicemail notification.

Both from his lady.

He sighed, silently apologizing to her that he missed her call and instantly started listening to her voicemail, his heart dropping to his toes.

"Hey, kitty. I know it's stupid for me to call you at this time, you must be sleeping. Nonetheless, there's...something I gotta confess..." Marinette had gone silent for a few moments. "I know I recently went to my therapist and she lowered the dosage for my anti-depressants. But...we have a problem. I know I have to wait for another two weeks due to my anxiety, but they're back. T—The thoughts are back..." She has started sobbing and it made Adrien wonder if she was still crying now. "They're back...and...and I don't know if I can deal with them...Adrien, please. I need you here. I...I can't do this alone..."

The voicemail then went silent and Adrien felt a few tears roll down his cheeks. Plagg must have seen them too, as he flew over and hovered in front of his miraculous holder's face, distress in his eyes.

"So..." Plagg whispered. "What did she need?"

Adrien clutched his phone tightly before putting it in his pyjama pant pocket, quickly walking towards his window. "Her...freaking...suicidal thoughts are back. Just after we lowered her anti-depressant prescription. We need to hurry; Plagg, claws out!"

Adrien, now as his superhero persona of Chat Noir, ran quickly along the rooftops to make it to his lady's home. Hoping and praying that she was able to control herself and not injure herself. He landed on a rooftop nearby and saw her curled up in a tight ball on a chair on her balcony, his enhanced hearing picking up her sobs. He gently and quietly landed on her balcony, approaching her slowly and placing a gentle hand on her shoulder when he got into reach. "Princess? Hey...I got your message.."

Marinette looked up at him and he took notice of her puffy and red eyes, tear-stained cheeks, and trembling bottom lip. "A—Adrien..." She quickly pulled him into a tight hug, breathing raggedly. "Oh...I don't know how much longer I would have been able to hold those thoughts in just my mind anymore.." she sobbed into his shoulder, her small frame shuddering.

Adrien frowned, releasing his transformation and picking up Marinette. He carried her down into her room and sat on the edge of her bed with her in his lap, rocking her gently. Plagg hovered in front of the two before flying and finding Tikki still out like a light on Marinette's desk. He curled up beside Tikki and decided that he wouldn't disturb her now and just explain the situation to her later.

The two, almost adult, teens stayed silent for a few minutes, holding onto each other. "What are we going to do...?" Marinette asked, breaking the silence.

"You tell me whenever you have one of those thoughts. Whether you call, text, or even tell me in person. I don't care how you do it, just tell me, alright?" Adrien replied, his concern for her glimmering in his eyes.

Marinette nodded. "And when I go back to the therapist in two weeks, I'll explain to her what's going wrong and tell her to up the dosage to what it was before."

Adrien smiled slightly. "Good girl."

Marinette hugged him tighter. "I know I am."

Adrien chuckled. "You always will be," he kissed her temple. "Forever."
