It was a typical summer night in Paris; extremely dark except for the moonlight and streetlights, and there was a gentle breeze.

The two superheroes were doing their patrol and had split up.

It was about time to meet up again at the Eiffel Tower when Ladybug called Chat. She didn't say anything for a few moments, but once she did, her voice sounded a little weak.

"Hey, Chat..."

Chat blinked in confusion for a moment before he turned worried. "My lady? What's wrong? Where are you?! Are you okay?"

Ladybug managed to pinch the bridge of her nose lightly. "Calm...Calm down.."

He frowned. "Well...what happen Princess?"

"Just...come to my location.." She whispered before quickly stopping the call so he couldn't say anything more.

Chat sighed, pulling up a map of Paris and looking for Ladybug's location. Once he found where she was, he quickly made his way over to her, hoping and praying that she was okay.

———

Chat landed in the middle of the street, looking in the alleyways that branched off, trying to find his lady. With his night vision, he spotted her laying in one of the alleyways, facing a wall. He came up behind her and gently put his hand on her shoulder. "Hey Princess..it's me."

Ladybug was in a slight daze when he showed up, only snapping out of it when she heard his voice and felt his touch. She turned just enough so she could see him, flashing a weak, almost forced, smile. "There you are Chat..."

He instantly noticed something was wrong, and he saw her hand pressed firmly against her left side. So firmly it scared him. "What happened?"

She bit her lip and looked away, taking a deep breath to calm herself. "I just...ran into a mugging incident.." She whispered vaguely.

He raised an eyebrow, worried for her well being. "And?"

"I...may or may not have been cut with a sharp knife..because I didn't see it.."

Chat's eyes widened and he quickly made a decision on the spot. He gently picked Ladybug up bridal-style, not caring about her subtle protests, and carried her to his home. He was not gonna let this cut open more or get infected; he was going to treat it right away.

———

When they made it to Chat's home, he set her down and went off to get his first-aid kit, releasing his transformation in the process.

Ladybug kept her hand pressed against her side the entire time Chat was carrying her and even still while he had set her down. Pulling her knees up to her chest, she hid her face in them, refusing to look up at him when he approached again with the first-aid kit.

"Bugaboo.." He cooed. "I need you to release your transformation for me, okay?" He frowned as she stayed silent so he pressed on. "Pretty please...I want to fix up your wound.."

She continued being silent, not wanting to speak to him.

"I won't cuddle with you later." He smirked.

She peeked up at him when he said that, playful annoyance glimmering in her bluebell eyes.

"That's what I thought," He grinned. "It's so easy to coax you into doing things."

She rolled her eyes. "Depends on the situation and who is doing the coaxing."

"Whatever," He chuckled. "So does that mean you'll release your transformation for me?"

She sighed, saying the magic words that let her transformation go, and watched as Tikki flew out onto the floor beside the two of them. It didn't take long for Tikki and Plagg to silently fly off to the kitchen to get something to eat.

Adrien's grin softened when she complied to his request, gently putting her legs down so that he had an easier time examining the cut in her side. He dabbed the excess blood away with a damp towel and started disinfecting the cut, causing Marinette to hiss and whimper in pain.

"Sorry, Princess...I just want to make sure it doesn't get infected."

"It's alright.." Marinette frowned, shutting her eyes tightly. "How bad is it?"

"Seems as though the blade only grazed your side, which means there doesn't need to be any stitches. It just needs to stay wrapped up for a bit, but I did notice that there was a fair bit of blood loss despite the blade just grazed you..." He explained.

She sighed in relief. "That doesn't seem to be too bad.."

"I know.." He agreed. "My hands are too shaky to actually do stitches at the moment anyway. You had me worried when you were being extremely vague."

"Well...I couldn't really find the right words to describe what happened."

"What do you mean?" He tilted his head in confusion.

"Once I was alone, I remember stumbling back into the alleyway.."

"And then?" He raised an eyebrow.

She blinked for a few moments before shaking her head. "I must have blacked out or something because I don't remember what happened after that..." she admitted quietly.

"You lost a fair bit of blood; I told you that," He reminded her. "We should get that checked out tomorrow because I don't know how much blood you loss and I don't know how it'll affect you."

She frowned, going quiet except for the sound of her light breathing.

He silently told himself not to say anything else, instead, he grabbed a bandage and began to gently wrap it around her. Once he was satisfied with how the cut was covered, he secured the bandage nicely and kissed the back of her hand.

She smiled faintly, looking over at him. "Thank you Chaton.." She whispered softly, stroking his hair.

He let out a purr, resting the side of his head on her thigh and gently shutting his eyes as she continued stroking his hair.

———

The two teenagers stayed like that until Marinette yawned, causing her to momentarily stop petting him.

Adrien lifted his head to look up at her, seeing her yawn. "Aww..is my Princess sleepy?"

She gently rubbed her eye as she looked down at him, nodding slowly. "Mhm.."

He let out a soft chuckle, standing up and picking her up again. He carried her over to his bed and laid her down, going over to the other side of his bed and laying down as well. He pulled the covers over the two of them and smiled down at her, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

She carefully cuddled up to him, tangling her legs with his, smiling as well when he kissed her forehead and shutting her eyes.

He spoke up a few minutes later. "Marinette?"

"Hm?" She hummed, keeping her eyes close.

"You know you can always call me if you need me. Whether you are hurt, in trouble, want me to come over, or just need someone to talk to. I'll always be here for you."

"I'll keep that in mind," She whispered softly. "I can call you if I'm bored or just because too, right?"

"Of course," He chuckled. "Whatever your reason may be, I'll make sure to pick up your call. Or..if I'm busy with whatever I'm forced to do; leave a voicemail and I'll be sure to call you back as quick as I can."

She giggled quietly, cuddling closer to him. "I understand that."

"Good," He rested his head on top of hers. "Now let's go to sleep, I'm getting sleepy."

She smiled. "Alright. Good night kitten."

"Good night Princess."
