Thank you @NinaLovesKitties for the idea. I quickly got an idea when I saw your comment and got excited to write it. I hope it's okay.
———————————————————————Marinette's POV
I've had to hide for a little bit now.
I have a small fever and I've been insisting on going to work.
Adrien keeps looking over at me when I see him; I'm sure he's getting worried.
But I have to keep it hidden for a little longer.
It's only seven hours on the weekdays and I've had this fever for a few days now, at least I'm taking care of myself when I get home.
Third Person
Marinette walked into the office building for another day of work, it was Friday and she didn't have work on the weekends so she could focus entirely on taking care of herself.
She walked past Adrien and he stopped her and smiled at her. "Good morning m'lady."
"Morning kitty. Is there anything urgent I should take care of?"
Adrien chuckled softly. "Cut yourself some slack Bugaboo, it's Friday, just focus on casually designing today."
Marinette playfully rolled her eyes. "Alright Chaton, see ya later." She said before walking off to her office, sensing Adrien's eyes watching her as she walked away. She was now aware of how she was walking, stiff and the slightest bit hunched over, like she was containing a terrible secret. So she straightened up and forced her shoulders to relax as she eventually was out of Adrien's view.
Once at her office, Marinette flopped down into her desk chair with a sigh, sneakily taking some medicine that she had put in her purse before beginning to get to work. She had decided to mostly work on unfinished designs she had laying around; ones that she couldn't get to with the amount of paperwork and meetings she had to attend to in the past couple of weeks.
The next fashion show was coming up in about a month and she was determined to get these last designs finished so they could be ready in time for the fashion show, hoping, just like every other day, that her sickness would not get in the way today...
But unfortunately, her body decided that it has had enough.
A few hours later, near the end of her shift, Marinette was feeling absolutely terrible. Her hot and cold flashes seeming to constantly come and go, while her nose was slightly red from trying to be gentle while rubbing it, the redness of her cheeks and nose standing out from the paleness of her skin (her skin even paler than it usually is). She rested an elbow on her desk and laid her head in her hand, watching as her pencil movements seem to get slower as she continued to work. She hasn't realized it yet, but this was probably the worst her sickness has gotten over the past few days; her body has had enough, and she couldn't find a way to stop it.
It was then when Adrien silently opened the door a little and peeked into her office, eyes widening slightly at Marinette's pale, seemingly sick expression. He blinked before carefully shutting the door and knocking on it to make it seem like he hadn't seen her yet.
Marinette jumped at the sound of knocking on her door, shaking her head and sighing. "Come in.." She managed to say weakly, looking down at her lap.
Adrien frowned at the sound of her weak voice, turning the door handle and opening the door, looking at her with worry clouding his gaze. He didn't say anything as he shut the door behind himself and walked over to her, gently lifting her head by the chin with one hand while resting the back of his other hand against her forehead. Her forehead was burning to his touch, and her skin looked even paler up close.
