"I know who Hawkmoth is."

Chat blinked in surprise, staying silent for a few moments before he shook his head quickly. "What?!"

"I said, I know who Hawkmoth is," Ladybug repeated, breathing slowly and deeply to keep herself calm.

"Oh, okay...um, you seem shaken by that revelation. Who...Who is Hawkmoth exactly if I may ask?" Chat spoke cautiously, watching her carefully.

Ladybug opened her mouth to speak but quickly shut it, taking a few moments to find the right words before she decided to speak. "It's Daniel Dupain-Cheng. Marinette Dupain-Cheng's older brother. You remember her, right? I asked you to protect her way back when Evillustrator attacked."

Chat blinked. "I do remember...H-Hold on though, it's him?!"

"Mhm," Ladybug nodded, tilting her head to the side a little in slight confusion. "What's wrong?"

"He does not seem like the kind of guy who would do something like that; he cares about Marinette too much!"

Ladybug shrugged and sighed, "It's always the people you least expect, I guess..."

Chat swallowed. "I...guess so..."

Ladybug sighed, standing up and walking over to the edge of the platform they were on. "Well...let's figure something out tomorrow, okay? We should probably both head to sleep," she forced a small smile at Chat. "See ya, kitty..." She mumbled before latching her yo-yo onto something from afar and swinging away, leaving Chat alone to his own thoughts.

Chat took a deep breath, standing up a few minutes after Ladybug left and stretching. "Purr-haps I should pay a visit to Marinette."

Marinette flopped down onto her bed, releasing her transformation and letting Tikki land on her bed beside her. She pressed the palms of her hands against her closed eyes, taking deep breaths.

"Mari?" Tikki asked as she hovered in front of Marinette's face. "What's going on?"

"Daniel is Hawkmoth, Tikki," Marinette sat up, a distressed look on her face. "That's what has been going on ever since the Akumas started; Daniel is Hawkmoth!"

"Oh..." Tikki whispered, taking in the information. "Well...okay, first off, calm down. We don't need you panicking this late at night. Second, deep breaths, we'll find a way to get through this, okay? It's all going to be okay, I promise."

Marinette laid back down and hugged one of her pillows, her eyes watering slightly as she blankly stared ahead. "I sure hope so..."

Marinette then jumped when she heard a certain knocking pattern on her trapdoor above her.

Chat...

Marinette rubbed her eyes to hide her tears, letting go of the pillow she was holding onto and getting up. She opened her trapdoor and forced a gentle smile at him. "Hey, kitty, what's going on?"

"As much as I would have liked for it to be something good, I have bad news..." Chat frowned, hopping inside after Marinette moved to make room for him.

"...Oh?" Marinette asked, worried, but had a feeling about what he was about to say.

He's going to talk about Daniel, isn't he?

Oh god...get your acting skills ready, Marinette.

"I-It's about your older brother, Daniel is his name, right?"
