"Memory's Martyrs"

A poem I wrote for John Lennon and all peaceful people that were killed before their time...

Inconceivably inspiring,

Unbeleivably undying.

Inability to mind,

Counterfeit misconceptions.

Teaching the world a lesson,

That we all just ignore.

Leaves our history guessing,

Wondering what's in store.

Weeping on,

Time's rocky shore,

Unable to keep above,

The tide of war.

Guiding our sheep,

To hell's fiery door.

Until our next martyr awakens,

We're all death's trifle,

A universal bore.

Our transgressions are blatant,

They've tried to warn.

Time's an endless loop,

Of never ending scorn.

When great men are born,

Our reality is torn.

So we turn to our evil,

To keep us deeply forlorn.

All good men,

Meet their dying day.

Good always before evil,

Being righteous doesn't pay.

We can't let this stay.

Just can't let murder,

Stand in the way.

Can't let the reaper,

Old and gray,

Become our kind's keeper.

Can't let their legendary memory,

Just fade away...
