Can you imagine the stakes,
The emotional courage it takes,
To stand up in this world,
Of slithering snakes?
How easy would it be,
If I could just have you and me,
And not worry about the revelry,
Mankind's insistent devilry?
If I could change the world,
I'd remake it for the stars.
As the eons unfurled,
We'd fly away to mars.
I'd create a special place,
That only we can reach or touch.
To get away from all the hate,
Sometimes it's just too much.
But redemption, it seems,
Is on the flip side of the quarter.
Love the feelings you have deemed,
Are not what the doctor ordered.
Take a bow in the last recess,
It's all broadway showings now.
If we can make it through this mess,
We'll all find our way somehow.
Each path ahead of us,
Leads us to our own demise.
Destruction is a must,
In a world where everything dies.
It's not that our world will fall,
That's not the rhyme or the reason.
It's how we rebuild that says it all,
Through the changing of the seasons.
Do not fear the end,
Every end is a new beggining.
If we could see around the bend,
We'd see all our passions winning.
Don't give up hope for us,
I know we'll all have tomorrow.
Don't give our love such fuss,
Or we'll drown in all our sorrows...
