"Nostalgia"

If you look to the past,

What do you see?

A foggy stained glass,

And misery?

Or is it nostalgic,

The true happy thoughts?

A fading foul trick,

That our minds have wrought?

Hindsight is true,

But is it truly handy?

My memories of you,

Far from dandy.

If you can't see ahead,

You look behind you.

And see the road that lead,

To who you grew into.

But the past needs to stay,

In the depths of your mind.

If you dwell on it you may,

Not like what you will find.

Do not forget the lessons,

That your past is there to teach.

Endless suicidal sessions,

Forever out of reach.

Nostalgia is pleasant,

And I have come to find,

The true and only resonance,

Comes from your own mind.

So hold those treasured memories,

Close to your breast.

Like the oceans and seas,

They'll never be at rest.
