She's beaten down,
Broken again.
Her crimson frown,
Choking again.
He's smacking and punching,
Beating her body.
She has to do something,
Her free will is rotting.
How can she stay,
When he abuses her so?
What can she say,
When she's feeling so low?
What can she be,
With no self esteem?
Why can't she see,
He's taking her being?
She trudges on with him,
Afraid to leave.
Something's wrong with him,
He lashes out and cleaves.
He's taking her spirit,
And crushing it down.
She doesn't want to hear it,
When loved ones want her unbound.
They say he will kill her,
If she doesn't get away.
But their past once fulfilled her,
All she can do is stay.
Years of abuse,
A violent ruse.
He says she's his muse,
But he's got the shortest fuse.
He's got the hardened hands,
That carry his demands.
She thought their love was grand,
But she has to make a stand.
She has to show him,
That she has had enough.
After years of this,
She finally grows tough.
She tells him in a voice,
So meek and gruff,
That she must have a choice.
Enough is enough!
If he raises his hand again,
She'll find the freedom in killing him.
It might be a deadly sin,
But she hides behind a painful grin.
He tells her she can't be free,
Tells her she's his property.
She loses control and no longer sees,
Turning to fight,
She no longer flees.
When she regains her bearing,
She's covered in blood.
Sanguine light glaring,
An unceasing crimson flood.
She cries in pain,
And laughs with glee.
He'll never hurt her again,
She is finally free...
