"Repugnance"

Sad notes of my past,

How long do memories last?

How cheap they all become,

Under time's incessant drum.

Will the shadows of the past,

Be overtaken by the future?

I wonder just how fast,

Before our minds release the suture.

I've hardened my resolve,

I won't take this endless treason.

For all the answers I have solved,

I cannot find a reason.

For the questions of the day:

What's the meaning of it all?

What leads my mind astray?

When will I finally fall?

We cannot live in yesterday,

Or dwell on suitable tomorrows.

When the final notes of our lives play,

We give back what we all borrowed.

The physical life,

Is not all there is to see.

Don't believe all of the hype,

Of what you can or cannot be.

We all have ghosts inside,

It's the nature of our spirit.

Something we cannot hide,

There is no need to fear it.

If we are reborn in life again,

I want to be beside you all.

If I can keep the love you send,

I know that we will never fall.

No matter what awaits,

At the end of this life's road,

A clearing or a bend,

My spirit remains bold.

I am not afraid to die,

It is just another step.

But to not even try,

To keep the you,

that you have left..

That is true repugnance.
