it was always seen that deji preferred being alone, always had his own friends. he kept to himself; it was true. he and jj never had the best relationship growing up, but surely, you'd think that with deji being closer in years to his little sister, that they'd be more tightly knit?

jj olatunji always cared for, protected and inspired emmy olatunji. she was put through her paces at four years old when she was diagnosed with cancer. jj made the most of having her by his side, maybe even more than anybody else.

for six years, em underwent chemotherapy and surgery to keep her fragile little heart pumping. a hole in her chest; an operation to close it. the leukaemia disease finally cleared up - but that wasn't the end.

at eleven years of age, jj's beloved sister was told that she has a very rare condition that affects the pace of the heart, ensuring that it beats too fast, too slow, or extremely irregularly. she was immediately referred to have an artificial pacemaker installed after her pills to keep her heartbeat under control provided no such help.

in the late months of 2016, em found out that jj had been telling lies to deji about herself, saying that she'd been drinking every night (which is massively unhealthy for anybody with an artificial pacemaker), getting into bare-knuckle fights on the street, and bullying her friends. deji called up em to confront her about it just before the rumour reached their parents; and suffice to say, she was horrified.

blinded by anger, em rang her eldest sibling, asking him why he lied, why he would do such a sick thing. jj, refusing to admit to his wrong doings, fought back, trying to convince em that she, in fact, was doing all of those things, knocking her confidence massively. she didn't upload to her channel for at least two months, scared to be judged. along with that, she hardly interacted with the people around her.

this is her story; the nitty gritty of her entire life, the ups, the downs, and even before it all began, written down to see.

yo, so this is my first ever story! super excited to put it out there. if you're interested, the rest of the book isn't all in lower case.

this book is made to show how much of a rollercoaster ride em's life has been. it is a set of flashbacks, most of the time going forward back into normal time.

i do have to disclaim that a few chapters reference sensitive topics such as leukaemia, negative relationships, and anxiety panic disorder.

the bad language used is not intended to offend any readers - it is in the nature of the characters portrayed.
