past:

em was diagnosed with leukaemia at four years old, and developed a hole in her chest because of it. she had the hole closed by surgery, and then recovered from the disease. in later life, when she was twelve, em developed arrhythmia (a condition which makes your heartbeat too fast, too slow, or very irregular) because her natural pacemaker was damaged and blocked. because of this, she had to have an artificial pacemaker installed.
em struggles with anxiety panic disorder due to her illness. it stresses her out as she constantly overthinks, and the mental illness has affected her from when she was a young eleven year old.
