My USB's lost so I had to do this all over again. This one's shorter than the original though.

This chapter is kind of lame because it's a short one. Nothing sweet or anything. Pointless chapter. Sorry guys.

But chapter 23 and 24 will be something BIG ;) New characters and everything will be falling into pieces <///3

So here's the awaited chapter twenty-two!

Chapter 22

"Will someone bring out the food?"

"Is the fireworks ready?"

"The champagne bottles are already chilled!"

All the sudden, we heard a sound of plates clattering.

We all stood up and looked inside the house: The adults were running back and forth into the kitchen and the dinning room, grumbling about food and everything else. We, "kids", were sitting by the front porch of the beach house we rented in Venice Beach.

It was a New Year's tradition: the whole Crew with our families would spend New Year's Eve at a rented beach house anywhere around California and celebrate, party, and pig out until the sun came out and leave after.

"Mom, are you sure you don't need an extra hand?" Ali yelled.

"No!" They all shouted back.

I sighed and sat down. I patted Beast's head and put my head above knees.

"Hey Ali. Why aren't you having an allergic reaction?" Jenny asked.

"Meds," Ali said and leaned on Theo's shoulder.

This year was kind of a surprise: Theo's parents were here. They celebrated last year New Year's Eve with Theo's sister, who was settled in Canada, so they didn't make it. And finally this year, we were complete again: my whole family, Jenny's family, Nadine's mom and dad were here too, Emma's family, and Monette's family, Rob's family and Mark's family.

We weren't doing anything because we wanted to start the fun after the fireworks show so here we were, staring at night sky, listening to the waves of the ocean, and dying due to boredom.

"Sadie, can I take Beast for a walk?" Michael, Monette's six-year old brother, asked.

I looked at Mon and she nodded.

"Take care of him." I handed him Beast's leash and they were off. Mon patted my arm and he followed her little brother, running around the sandy shores.

Nash, Rob, and Mark were busy playing some game on their PSP while the girls were reading some fashion app in their iPhones and BlackBerries. I decided to lie down on the hammock and just listen to music. We still had an hour to go before midnight strikes and I was already sleepy.

I pressed play and the playlist started playing Sunday Morning by Maroon Five and I was already sleeping. . . All the sudden, something heavy was dropped on my torso.

"NASH!" I yelled and pulled out my earphones.

"'sup, baby?" Nash said in a gangster tone.

"Really Nash?" I said and rolled my eyes. I put back my earphones on and the song was already in the fifth song, Hey There Delilah, and I went back to sleep. I felt Nash switched positions and next thing I knew, he was looking at me straight in the eye.

"NASH!" I yelled out of surprise.

He pulled my right earphone and put it in his. He closed his eyes and buried his head on my shoulder.
