WOOT. The last chapter is near ohmygod. I cannot believe it’s going to happen. The ending of my first official “novel”.  I can’t even.

Chapter 29

I sighed. I have made my decision, even though it was spur of the moment. I would answer him once he asked me again his question. Yeah, fair enough.

I walked towards him and he smiled.

“Hey, welcome back!” He greeted me and gave me the teddy bear and the bouquet of roses.

“Hey, thanks for these.” I said and he grabbed my luggage. “Nash, you don’t have to do that.”

“It’s no biggie. You’re my best friend.” He smiled.

I nodded… and then I realized what he just said. Best friends? We were back to being best friends? What?

“I called your parents up and told them I was going to pick you up.” He said as we walked to his car.

“Uh huh,” I mumbled.

“You fine?” He asked.

I nodded.

I waited for him to get settled and once he was done, we were off back to my house. He asked a bunch of stuff about my games and all, as if nothing was wrong with the both of us. I knew he was waiting for me to tell him my answer but I wouldn’t spill the beans unless he asked. Someone please help me.

“Are you hungry?” He asked as we drove near Taco Bell.

I shook my head no. The nervous feeling was eating my guts out.

“Let’s just get you home. I bet you’re feeling tired.” He said and placed his right hand on my shoulder.

I closed my eyes, forcing every inch of me not to tell him everything that I was feeling.

As we reached my front gate, he started talking again.

“So Sadie…,” he said. “Do you know what your decision is? I can wait, I promise.”

I closed my eyes, telling myself not to cry in front of him. I breathe out and started talking. “Nash, we’re not getting back together. We were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay fast with everything and I don’t even know how to be in a relationship because I’ve never been in one.”

He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed loudly. “So what do we do now?”

“I don’t know. It’s bullshit if I say ‘we can be friends’.” I said.

“We can be friends though. Just like before. We can pretend these past few months never happened.” He said quickly.

Wow. He’s really trying to save our relationship. Isn’t that every girl’s dream?

“Okay, fine. Why not? Let’s give this a try. But we have to set some boundaries.” I said.

“We cannot be alone in the car.” He said. “Well, except for now.”

I nodded and took out my phone and started typing it down.

“We cannot hang out alone.” He said. “One or two of our friends should be with us.”

“No more Saturday morning exercise.” I added. Damn, that was a big one.

“What about our stalking thing? You know our little investigating secret?” He asked.
