I did this chapter for three hours with Maryle by my side. Trust me, I went apeshit because my mom was nagging me to go to bed at nine in the evening (WTF?!). Short chapter. I blame Mom for this. HEHE.

So here you guys go.

Last three chapters.

Chapter 28

Two weeks later.

I frowned as we walked out of the Arthur Ashe Stadium. We lost the tournament. We weren’t going back after two weeks. I was disappointed at myself. My teammates did all their best but I did nothing.

Coach Fields said she was okay with it. The sad thing was S.A. kind of expected us to win. It would be disappointing when we return. She said she already called Headmaster Evans and he said it was fine, as long as we did our best.

Everything was planned out. After the game, I would stay with Ali and Theodore and go back after the weekend. I would miss two days of school but the girls got my back on that. Thomas watched the last round of my game – shocking how this guy could fly all the way to New York just to watch my game – and he ended up taking my place at the hotel we were staying at.

Theodore was silent as we drove back to their house. Ali kept on saying some cheerful things so that I wouldn’t be all depressed.

“Come on, Sadie. There’s always a next time.” She said.

“I know but I could’ve been a champion for the second time but nothing.” I sighed.

“Well, you know the next time is a long time and you have a lot of practicing to do if you wanted to win like super win.” Ali said and I just looked at her strangely. I’d blame her pregnancy medicines.

“Stupid Nash,” I murmured.

“What did you say?” Ali asked.

“Nothing,” I said.

As we reached their house, Theodore finally spoke. “Okay let’s make a deal. If you win the next tournament, which is probably around the time when the baby’s due, I’ll name our baby… something cool. You know, like Megatron or something.”

I laughed out loud while Ali slapped Theo’s arm.

“HOW ABOUT NO?!” Ali shouted.

“No is not a nice name for a baby.” Theo said it seriously but after a millisecond, he laughed.

“Okay, if I win my next tournament, I get to name the baby.” I said and went inside their house.

I turned around and saw Theo laughing as Ali burst into an angry pregnant woman.

Yeah, that’s how you treat your pregnant wife.

I went inside my room and lied down for a while. It has been a tiring day and I couldn’t wait for it to end when suddenly my phone rang.

“Ugh!” I said and answered my phone without looking at the screen. “Hello?”

“Hey, where’s your sister’s house?” It was Thomas.

I gave him the address.

“Wanna hang tomorrow? I can pick you up or something.” He said.

“Okay then. I’ll see you.” I said and hung up. I didn’t want to keep the conversation going because I was dead tired so I texted him, just to let him know that I wasn’t mad or anything.
