The Young Avengers: Not Kids Anymore [2]

-Hours since Emma was kidnapped-

Screams. They echoed.

Peter and the rescue party; Tony, Thor, himself, Natasha, and Wanda, were near Thanos' base. And yet, Peter somehow heard it. Cries for help. Screams for mercy. His eyes, still unmasked, to Wanda.

Her face sold it all. Wanda felt exactly what he felt. As did Tony, he seemed to pause in his footsteps causing both Thor and Natasha to turn to him.

"Tony," Natasha said.

Tony's face looked worried, "Something isn't right."

Thor frowns, "What do you mean?" He asks.

Wanda stepped over, "You sense it as well?"

"Sense what?" Natasha asks, "Peter? Are you okay?"

Peter shrugs his shoulders, "I- I don't know. I heard screams and cries for help."

Thor gives a puzzled look, "I did not hear such." He claims.

Wanda frowns, "Of course you wouldn't. This is Thanos."

Peter frowns, "Wh- What?"

Tony grits his teeth, "He wants the watch and Emma is the only one who can wield the power. He is going to be doing whatever he can to get to that power."

Wanda nods, "Anything."

Peter froze. His blood went cold. His eyes widen. The thought of Emma being tortured, made him feel sick.

Tony turns to Peter, "Come on. She needs us, we need to hurry." He said.

Everyone exchanges nods. They picked up their pace but Peter couldn't help but not shake off that feeling, the feeling that Emma was probably facing some deep dark demons and he isn't there for her.

🕸YOUNGAVENGERS🕸

No longer in the room she was in prior. Emma had her wrists being bounded on a pole, while aliens in hoods gathered around. She was being stabbed, one by one.

Screaming so loud.

Emma saw one come by stepping in front of her. Emma spit some blood on the ground. Trying to keep her cool, trying to stay in control.

"Bring him forward." The alien in the hood standing in front of her spoke.

Then walking over was two aliens holding a bounded Peter. He had blood on his face and bruising on his eyes.

"Peter-!" Emma caught herself screaming.

She shakes her head. Reminding herself this is not real. This was not real. This was not reality. This was an illusion made by Thanos.

The hooded alien grabs Emma by her face and forces her to open her eyes, she yells at that. And then sees the two aliens had shoved Peter down on the ground. Sorrow in his eyes as he looked at her pleading.
