The Young Avengers: Not Kids Anymore [2]

-Moments after defeating Thanos-

Heading back to Earth the heroes were divided into the two ships. They tried to evenly divide the number of people on each ships so it wasn't too cluttered, Tony almost had Peter fly in another ship to save on space -- however, Emma wasn't going to allow that to happen. So Scott and Clint both decided to head on the other ship back, that was piloted by Captain Marvel.

Steve, Tony, and Natasha were in the cockpit; whereas mostly everyone else was sleeping, and the young teenagers were elsewhere.

"Stark," Steve nudged him, "You seem tired, you should get some rest."

Tony rubs his eyes and shakes his head, "Nah. I'm fine."

Natasha turns to glance at him, "You have nothing to prove to us if you stay up."

Tony shakes his head again, "It's not that. I am fine, really I am." He said.

Steve looks at the genius, "Then what is it?"

"I'm worried about the kids." Tony said, "They've both been through a lot."

Natasha frowns, "Yeah, I know." She said, "But don't have to deal with alone."

Steve nods, "That's right. Emma has Peter and vise verses." He said.

Tony sighs and rubs his hands over his face, "I hope so. I just worry about her- both of them actually." He said.

Natasha gazed from the direction they were flying toward to Tony, "There is nothing wrong with being worried, Tony. Hell, after her mom left you stepped up to take care of her." She said, "And to be honest no one expected that from you."

Tony smirks, "I told Emma her mom told me to become her guardians," He paused, "But part of me wanted to be her guardian. I don't know why."

Steve shrugs, "Who knows, maybe you thought you could help her." He said.

"Maybe." Tony said.

Natasha looking in the direction they were flying in says, "You should get some rest, Tony. Cap and I can handle a few more hours before needing to sleep."

Tony sighs and stands up, "I'm getting too old for this." He said and then moves out of the cockpit, "Night."

The two nod and wave at Tony, "Night." They both said.

Tony walked down the halls of the ship. It was empty and silent, however, he passed one room and heard voices. He knew which room that was, it was Emma's. A small smile appeared on the older man's face.

He was considering knocking on the door and kicking Peter out for them to sleep, but he knew that wasn't going to happen. So instead, Tony just smirks while shaking his head and walked in the direction of his bunk.

"I can image that all of our classes will change again," Emma spoke.

"They changed while I was away?" Peter asks.
