The Young Avengers: Not Kids Anymore [2]

-First day back to school for Peter-

Peter had been nervous about returning to school actually, he was so nervous on what to expect really. Things not just at his school had changed in the past weeks but the entire world has. Peter had gotten out of his train and ran out of the station in the direction to school.

He wondered who had vanished, like him. He glanced around noticing people looking at him. Some whispering things to themselves. Which did make Peter a bit more anxious than usual.

Then a familiar black car pulled up, the passenger door opens and Emma pops out. She was driven to school by Happy.

"Thanks, Happy. I'll see you after decathlon." She said to him.

Happy nods as a response and then heads off.

Emma turns to fully see Peter in front of her. He was a bit shocked looking at her, now Emma wasn't one to dress fancy or fashionable. Sure she was pretty and anything she wore looked stunning on her, but Peter did not expect what he saw.

Emma was wearing her blonde hair in a messy ponytail, her glasses covering her blue eyes, a blue three quarter sleeve shirt, black skinny jeans, and blue vans.

"Peter, you're staring." She said as she took a step forward, "You okay?"

Peter nods and rubs a hand behind his head, "Yeah- Yeah. It's just- wow. You look different here." He said.

Emma shrugs, "Yeah besides sweat pants and a hoodie," She rolls her eyes grinning.

Peter and Emma went on to walk into the building, there was a slight hesitation on whether or not they were going to hold hands. However, the second Emma's eyes saw Harry, she reached over and grabbed her boyfriend's hand.

Peter glanced at her due to that, "You okay?"

Emma looks at him, "I'm fine. I've been at school for a while, until you." She said.

The two enter the building, and Emma noticed that there was more students than prior, which is such a relief.

"I mean I am a bit nervous," Peter admitted, "It feels like I've been gone for months- heck even years, but nothing really has changed."

Peter opens his locker, he reaches in to grab his books. Emma leans against the locker next to his. A frown escaped her lips.

"Things did change here, Peter." She says.

Peter halts and turns to Emma, "I- I know." He says.

Emma then noticed MJ and Cindy by her locker, "Be right back," She smiles, "Have to collect physic notes from Cindy."

"You copying notes from Cindy?" Peter asks.

Emma shakes her head as she started to walk, "No she was borrowing mine." She winks.
