I woke up, it was pitch black outside. My head was throbbing, my body felt sore, but my head was the worst. I leaned my head back, wanting to fall asleep right there as my eyelids got heavy. I looked to my right, Lori was out cold. The car was on its side. Something was snarling, I noticed a walker and panicked, immediately grabbing for my knife. This car was dead, it was a pile of trash now, I don't know how long the walker had been there. It was after Lori.
Lori woke up and saw the walker. Freaking out, she started to yell and scream.
"Lori! Calm yourself!" I growled, she was taking quick shallow breaths. It was breaking its way through the shattered windshield.
"Here," I muttered, handing her my knife. She held it, but was terrified.
"In the head," I reassured.
"B-But," She stuttered.
"Now!" I growled, she shoved the knife into it's temple. She gave me the knife back, I had dried blood from my nose all the way down my neck. We worked our way out of the car, facing the heap of scrap metal. A walker snarled and grabbed Lori. Before I had the chance to stab it, she shot it, the echo of the bullet going everywhere.
"What the hell???? Every walker near by is gonna be directed right to us!" I ranted.
"I could've died," She stated, annoyance lacing her voice.
"Well now what?" I asked her.
"We've gotta get out of here," She answered.
"Didn't even think of that," I stated sarcastically, rolling my eyes.
"Okay, uh did you tell someone we were leaving?" I asked.
"No, but Daryl knows," She stated.
"Daryl won't think anything of it, the only reason he'd worry is because he's watching my daughter," I groaned.
"Well, we best start walking," I stated heading towards the farm.
"What about Rick and the others?" I spun around to face her.
"Are we just gonna fucking walk there? I'm not walking to town in the dark, we don't know what's out there. They're probably back by now," I snapped.
"They would've stopped for us if they did."
"No, that car is unrecognizable they would've drove past, but if you wanna go to town. Have a nice trip, I shoulda stayed at the fucking farm."
"Why didn't you? Why'd you come with me?" She asked beginning to get angry.
"What the fuck do you know about survival? I figured something would go wrong and you would need help. Firing the gun was like the fourth mistake you've made tonight!"
"Why do you hate me so much?" She asked.
"I don't hate you. I don't hate anyone."
There was a silence for a moment.
"What should we do?" She asked.
"Go back to the farm," I answered.
"I'm going to go get Rick, whether you come with me or not," She stated.
"Okay, have fun," I muttered heading towards the farm, I wasn't killing myself for some mission she wouldn't accomplish. After about a mile and a half I started to regret ditching Lori, she was not going to survive.
"You stupid bitch," I snarled. Turning around and jogging back, I'd catch up to her quickly. I was a runner before all of this, I loved long distance it made me feel free so a few miles wouldn't hurt.
