The alarm clock blared in your ears as you sighed, turning off the loud and obnoxious noise. Sitting up, you began to get out of bed and groaned, rubbing your still-tired eyes.

It seemed to be just a regular Thursday; the same bed, the same apartment room, and the same old world. Or so you thought...

Today was the day your entire life would change. Those boring, lonely days would soon come to an end. Of course; you weren't aware of it until it was too late. Who could have imagined that someone as regular and ordinary as you would be chosen by fate to have her entire life flipped upside down?

You changed out of your warm pajamas and threw on your uniform with haste, looking over at the time. You barely even had time to brush your hair and eat breakfast as your stomach growled.

You've been living by yourself ever since high school began. You used to live with your Guardian, but they left you alone to "gain independence". That was their excuse, but it was really just them not wanting you around anymore. You often felt neglected and by yourself all the time...

But you didn't have time to reflect on your lonely, high school life as you grabbed your cell phone and quickly ran out the door on your way to school.

You turned on the phone and looked over your messages as you ran. But that didn't last very long as you lost your balance and tripped, falling head-first into the pavement. Your phone glided to the other side of the road, but you couldn't care less as your head began to pound.

You started to panic, trying to stand up and ignore the crowd of students around you as you heard someone laugh, only causing you to fall back to the ground again.

Looking up into the sea of concerned students, one boy stood out from all the others. His purple hair was shining in the sunlight as he laughed hysterically and pointed a finger at you.

"How stupid can you be, idiot!? You tripped over absolutely nothing!!" He exclaimed, still laughing. You felt ashamed as you stood up and frantically looked around, noticing something was missing.

"Oh, looking for this?" The boy laughed, holding up your cell phone. How did he get that!?

"Give it ba-" You couldn't even finish your sentence as you felt dizzy and your eyes began to tear up.

"Don't think you deserve attention because you've been hurt." He snapped.

What an asshole!!

You frowned at him and tried to stand up again, only for your head to feel worse. Looking up, you were met with the boy himself, offering his hand.

"Oh no, are you alright? Maybe I should take you to the infirmary...can you stand?" The boy suddenly asked gently.

Huh?

He offered his hand to you with a different tone of voice, as if he were a different person.

You smacked his hand away and stood up on your own. "I don't need help from someone who laughs at me-" But you ended up collapsing into his grasp as he leaned you against his shoulders.

"You don't have to fight it, I'll help you walk."

"I don't want your help, I'm fine!!" You protested as he chuckled.

"As you can see, I'm the only one here who cares, so you might as well accept my offer." You then noticed that the group of students around you had disappeared. He was right, and it was tough to walk by yourself...
