"You dare think you can make passes on my property, let alone make her cry." His question sounded like a threat as Roen began to back away.

"I-I-I didn't mean to Shiki, she's the one who-"

"I'm the only one who's allowed to see her tears." He smirked.

"I-I'm not afraid of some fallen angel!!" Roen stated defensively.

Fallen angel?

This was the second time he's referred to Shiki as a fallen angel.

You didn't understand what he meant but the thought of Shiki being an angel made you lightly giggle.

Shiki looked back at you in concern.

"Looks like this dog could use some extra training~" Shiki said as he punched his fist against his hand while walking towards Roen.

Roen yelped as Shiki approched him until his back hit the wall.

Shiki pulled his arm back to punch Roen but he teleported away.

Wait...

Teleported...?

It never registered in your brain that Shiki could teleport, and now for some reason Roen could too.

You looked back at Shiki, suddenly questioning him.

"How are you and Roen able to teleport away...?"

Shiki gave you a small smile.

"I'll explain that later..." He walked over to you and held your hand. "For now, let's just go home." Shiki changed the subject and led you out of the classroom.

"Thank you..." Shiki said lightly as you walked.

"For what?" You asked in confusion

"For sticking up for me, even after everything I've done to you..."

"I heard what you said to Roen, and that made me feel really thankful to have you, (Y/n)." He gave you a light smile as a streak of blush crossed your cheeks.

"It's nothing to deserve your praise, I love being with you. I mean it." You smiled as you lightly gripped his hand with your fingers intertwined with his.

A few moments of silence went by before you spoke up.

"Can I ask you a question?" You asked as he nodded his head.

"Why did Roen say that I asked him out the other night...?" You asked in confusion as he sighed.

"When we went out, you insisted on going to the bathroom but I lost you in the crowd... And when I found you, Roen had caught you when you blacked out."

Oh...

"I-I-I'm so sorry..." You stuttered.

"It's not your fault, I'm sorry I wasn't there to catch you, and that damn rat did instead." Shiki seemed genuinely upset as he said this to you.

"But it's obvious he was lying. Don't worry about it too much, okay?" Shiki asked, attempting to reassure you.

You nodded your head in response.

The two of you then started walking home until you stopped him.

"Want to go to the store? No offense but I'm sick of microwaveable dinners..." You said aloud as he chuckled.

"Well, maybe if you knew how to cook, this wouldn't be a problem."

You puffed your cheeks as he said this.
