"Alex come down!" I hear Mary one of the workers at the orphanage say.
"Coming! " I yell down
I walk down the stairs to the office. When I walk into the office I see Mary and a tall man.
"Alex this is John he's looking for a girl to adopt" Mary says with a smile on her face
"He wants to adopt me?" I ask hopeful
"Well yes, but I want to get to know you first though " he says not really showing any emotions
"Well I'll leave you two to get to know each other , while I go get the forms," she says with a smile on her face and she leaves the room
"Hey" I say awkwardly
"Hi so do you wanna tell me about yourself" he says
"Well my name is Alex, I'm 16 years old, I love music, I've been here since I was 2 months old, I'm smart and I get along with most people except for some of the kids here," I say
That was basically everything I thought I would need to share with him
"Well my name is John. I'm 47, I have no children and I also love music," he says
"What's your favourite band?" He asks me
"I like Black Veil Brides, All Time Low, My Chemical Romance... oh and Five Seconds Of Summer," I say and he smiles
"Do you like to read?" He asks me
"Yeah, I love reading," I say
"What's your favourite book?"
"Any of the Harry Potter books," I say
"You seem like a good kid, did you ever get in trouble with the police?" He asks me
"Nope," I say
"I think I'd like to adopt you," he says
I'm so happy I couldn't help it but hug him.
"I would love to be adopted by you," I say wich was true .
"So have you made a desision yet Mr Thompson?" Mary says while entering the office
"Yes I have and I would like to adopt Alex, " he says with a smile on his face
"Well we'll need to go through the paperwork of course but you should be able to take her home tomorrow, we can get someone to do a home inspection today," she says
"Okay," he says
"Here's the paperwork, I'll go through it with you," she says "Alex you can go now," she adds and I leave the room.
I should tell Amy, that I'll be leaving tomorrow after all she is my best friend.
I walk back upstairs and knock on Amy's door. I'm not looking forward to this.
