"Where could they be? They can't just disappear all of a sudden," I said.

"Did they leave anything behind for us?" Tyler asked me.

"No bro. Nothing," I answered.

"Where are they?" I said.

"SURPRISE!" We all jumped and saw our parents appear out of nowhere and shot confetti everywhere.

Banners, streamers, balloons and pictures of me appeared out of nowhere and then a big banner rolled down from the ceiling and stopped close to the ceiling saying,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUKE!!!!

Dang, I forgot that today was my birthday. "We got you, son!" Adam said. I looked at my cousins and sister, and they were all laughing.

"So, you all were part of this?" I asked them. They all nodded.

"You should've seen your face, bro!" Sean laughed out loud. "Not funny, dude."

"Tyler, you always said that you wanted a surprise birthday celebration and you got one today. Happy birthday to my handsome grandson!" Grandma Tasha exclaimed and hugged me and I hugged her back.

"Thank you Grandma."

I have to be honest, even though I was upset at my family for scaring me like that, I had to laugh it out. It was a good surprise.

"Mom and Dad, I love this surprise. But you all literally scared me to death. When I didn't see anyone home, I thought something happened to you all," I said.

"Luke, your father and I are bionic. What can happen to us?" Mom told me.

"A lot can happen," Aunt Kim said and I saw Mom glare at her. "Ok, forget all this. Today is Luke's birthday, so let's cut the cake!" Grandpa Donald said with glee.

We all went to the dining room and Aunt Kim brought the cake from the kitchen to the dining room and laid it on the bed. Everyone started singing together and it was so nice. It felt good to just celebrate my birthday with only my family.

I cut the cake and fed the piece to my parents and smeared the cake piece all over Alicia's face. "Hey!! I will get you for this!" She exclaimed.

Alicia carefully cut a piece of cake and was about to smear it on my face, but me being the quick, I ducked and the piece of cake ended up on Aunt Bree's face!

Aunt Bree's face literally turned red and it wasn't because of the red velvet cake. She wiped the icing from her eyes and opened them. "Alicia!" She shouted.

Everyone was quiet and Alicia coiled in fear. Lets just say that when Aunt Bree gets angry, she gets angry. "S-s-sorry A-a-a-a-aunt B-b-b-bree," Alicia stuttered.

Out of nowhere, Aunt Bree started laughing. All of us were shocked at her outburst but we laughed along with her. This is my lovely Davenport family.

"Before you all start a cake fight, let me serve the cake to the others as well," Grandma Kira said and took the cake from us and to the kitchen.

Grandma Kira cut the cake in pieces and gave it to us all. I took the cake and had a bite. Yummy! Ok, I just turned 18 and I said yummy, don't judge. "Mom, where did you get this cake from?" I asked Mom.

"We bought yesterday and they finished making it today," Mom answered.

"Cool. Its amazing. Aren't you all going to eat?" I asked Mom, aunts, cousins, sister and grandmas.

"Don't worry, we'll eat. You all go to the den. We'll get the food and snacks ready for all of us and we'll play some games," Aunt Bree replied to my question.

We all agreed and all of us men went to the kitchen bringing our cake pieces with us, and sat down on the couch and floor. There were family games ready to play and all of us were getting excited.

"Ok lets start with Apples to Apples," Uncle Chase suggested.

"No way! Let's play Monopoly," Dad suggested.

"Please! Monopoly is for losers," Uncle Jack said.

"Jack, are you calling me a loser?!" Dad exclaimed.

"Yes," Uncle Jack answered quickly. "Huh?" We all said in unison.

"Hey, my dad is not a loser! He's the best dad," I said.

Uncle Jack laughed nervously. "Sorry Luke, its just that I've been used to saying that since we were kids," Uncle Jack said.

I forgave him. For some reason, I started to get sleepy. "Luke will decide which game we'll play first," Tyler said.

My vision was getting blurry and then clear. Blurry, clear, blurry, clear. "Luke, you ok, man?" Sean asked me.

"I'm feeling tired," I said.

"Yeah same here," Uncle Leo Dooley said.

"Me too," Andre said.

"Are we all getting tired?" Grandpa Craig asked us.

"I think so," Grandpa Donald said.

"But how?" Sean asked.

"I think it's coming from the cake," I guessed.

One by one, everyone was falling asleep and the plates of cake pieces fell out of their hands on the floor. I was the last one to be engulfed in darkness.
