I showed the video to my family. "Isn't this the same Scott--"
"Mom! All that matters is that he is Luke's friend and we have to save him." I do not want Dad to know that I used to like Scott.
Or that I'm starting to fall for him after almost having sex with him in the janitor's closet at school.
"Come on, Dad. Do something," Luke exclaimed.
"Let me call your grandfather," Adam said and took out his phone to dial Grandpa Donald's number. Within 20 minutes, everyone was at our house. "Chase, find out about this video: its sender, number and location," Grandpa Donald ordered Uncle Chase.
Uncle Chase nodded and took the phone from Grandpa Donald and stepped to the side. The doorbell rang and Tyler went to go open the door. It was Alex, Scott's eldest brother.
"Alex?" Tyler said.
"Tyler! Did you find Scott yet?" Alex asked Tyler and came inside.
"No but don't worry, we're working on it and we'll find him," Tyler replied.
Alex saw me and came towards me. "Alicia, do anything just please find my brother," Alex said.
"We'll find him, Alex. Even I'm getting worried. One hour has already gone by," I responded.
"Dad! Another video came in!" Uncle Chase exclaimed.
Uncle Chase went to Grandpa Donald and gave the phone to him. All of us crowded around him to try to see the video, but we're all bumping against each other. "I can't see anything," Mom whined.
"Neither can I," Grandma Tasha said.
"Dad, can you project the video from the phone to the TV screen?" Aunt Kim asked Grandpa Donald.
"Ok hold on a second." Grandpa Donald downloaded the video from the phone to the laptop and then projected it to the TV screen.
The screen showed Scott struggling to stay on the chair and the block of ice has melted a little bit. Scott had his hands on the rope around my neck and was trying to loosen the rope around his neck so that he could breathe.
"Scott!" Alex yelled. "Dude, he can't hear from you there," Dad said.
We all rolled our eyes. Dad will never change.
The masked man laughed and said, "Aw poor little Scott. Looks like your friends and family doesn't care about you. Are you ready to die?" And he laughed again.
"Someone help!" Scott yelled. The masked man looked towards the camera. "You all now have 2 hours to save him. I know what you're going to say 'But you gave us 24 hours!', oh please! Do you really think that I'm going to wait for 24 hours for you all try to save him? And do you really think that a block of ice can get melted by 24 hours? Its get melted less than 24 hours, you idiots!" The masked man said and the video ended.
That's it! I've had it! "Ok people, we don't have much time. 24 hours went down to 2 hours and we have to find Scott as soon as possible. I can't afford to lose him. We just started--"
I stopped myself when I realized that everyone was looking at me, and I wasn't getting a very good look from my parents.
"You both just started what?" Mom and Dad said in unison.
"Uh.....nothing.....let's just find Scott. Uncle Chase, did you find the information about the video?" I asked Uncle Chase.
"Yeah I found it," Uncle Chase replied.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Caty exclaimed.
"Caty, are you crazy? We can't just barge in there. We need a plan," Sean said.
