Andre Dooley Davenport
I woke up and saw that Jada was lying on my lap and I was leaning against the headboard. I shook her head to wake her up, "Jada, wake up."
Jada shifted a little and woke up. "What time is it?" She asks.
I look at the watch on my wrist and it read, "9:12am." She gave me a big yawn as her answer and I closed my nose.
"Ew! Your mouth smells like rotten cabbage," I grimaced. It really did. She smacked me in the arm and I stuck my tongue at her. "Wait, quiet!" I whispered and pointed in the direction where the desk is at and saw the guy sleeping in the chair.
"He's sleeping! This is a good time for us to get out of here," Jada said excitedly and she got up from the bed, but I grabbed her hand and pulled her back on the bed. "We can't! We need to get our family out and we're going to teach Rob's sister a lesson."
"Then what should we do?" She asks me. I look at the guy to make sure he was still sleeping in the chair, which he is. I look back at Jada and said, "I have a plan."
I whisper the plan in her ear just in case the sleeping guy does not hear us. I finished telling the plan to her and looked at her and she smiled. "I like this plan. I hope it works."
"I will, I promise." The guy stirred in the chair and I motioned Jada to go back to 'sleep.' We laid back down on the bed and pretended to be still sleeping. I heard the chair move and footsteps and then felt someone shoving me.
"Hey! Get up, you two!" I sleepily opened my eyes and the guy that was sleeping on the chair was very close to me, like inches away from me. "You're not going to kiss me, are you?" I joked with him.
"Shut up! I ain't gay!" He exclaimed and literally pulled me and Jada off the bed. "Go get ready now!" I grabbed my clothes and went inside the bathroom while Jada went to another room to get ready. I finished taking a shower, got dressed and walked out of the bathroom and saw the guy, watching Jada intently.
"Hey, why are you looking at my sister like that?!" I yelled. He walked over to me with that angry expression and had his face close to me and yelled, "Who do you think you are!"
"Hank, stop yelling up there! Bring them down!" I heard the leader shout from downstairs and Hank took me and Jada downstairs and into the living room where our family was sitting on the ground with their sleepy eyes. I saw Tyler and Sophia lying down on either side of baby Elle, protecting her, and they slowly sat up.
"Oh, look who is awake! Come and sit. We're about to have breakfast," the leader came out of the kitchen with a tray of coffee cups and one of his men walked in behind him with a plate of cookies from our cookie jar. "I've brought breakfast for you all." They laid the tray and plate on the coffee table in the living room.
"But I thought you were going to make us go hungry," I said. My family did not move at all from their positions because they didn't know whether they should drink or eat.
"Calm down, dude. I may be a bad guy, but I still have a good heart and have even prepared breakfast for you all. Come, have some coffee, milk and cookies," the leader told me.
We didn't go over to it because he knows what he put in the coffee, milk and cookies. He realized that we didn't move at all and he smiled and said, "Relax. I didn't poison them. You can have it and enjoy it," the leader told us.
Did not have to tell us twice. We dug in the coffee, milk and cookies like we haven't eaten anything for days; to be specific, we haven't eaten for twelve hours. As we were eating, the doorbell rang. All of us looked at each other, wondering who could be at the door.
"Who's at the door?" The leader asked us.
"How do we know? We can't see through the door," Jada gave an attitude and the leader got upset.
"Jada, stop it," Mom scolded her.
"If I hear more attitude from you, you won't even imagine what I will do to you, missy. Got it?!" He shouted the last part at her and Jada flinched and nodded.
The leader grabbed Dad by the collar and the cup of coffee that Dad had in his hand, fell on the floor and the mug cracked.
"Let my husband go!" Mom exclaimed.
"Leave my brother alone!" Uncle Chase shouted.
"Hey shut up!" The leader yelled at Uncle Chase and then looked at Dad and said, "Now, here is what you're going to do. You're going to look through the peephole and tell me who it is. Then I'll decide if you should open the door or not, get it?" Dad nodded in agreement and the leader took him to the door, grabbed a gun out of nowhere, aimed at Dad's neck.
Dad looked through the peephole and then looked back at the leader. "It's a colleague from my office."
"Don't answer it," the leader said.
"Wait, but it could be important. Please just let me open it," Dad pleaded.
"Not a chance. Come on." The leader took Dad back towards us and all of a sudden, the front door bursted open, even though the hinges were intact and in came Uncle Adam, Aunt KC, Luke, Alicia, Uncle Jack, Aunt Kim, Sean and Caty in their mission suits.
"What the hell!" The leader exclaimed.
Uncle Chase and Uncle Jack kicked the leader down and Aunt KC and Aunt Kim came towards us to free us, while the uncles and cousins were fighting off the men. Baby Elle started crying and Aunt Kim had Mom and Sophia take baby Elle to a room and locked them in there.
All the thugs couldn't run anywhere and the police came inside and took them away.
All of the uncles, aunts, and cousins hugged us, making sure that we were fine.
"Are you all okay?" Aunt Kim asked us.
"We're fine," Tyler responded.
"I'll get Mom, Sophia and baby Elle," I told them, walked towards the bedroom and knocked on the door. "Mom? Sophia? It's me. Everything is fine now. The police took those guys away!"
The doorknob turned and I met eyes with Mom and Sophia. Baby Elle was awake but quiet as Mom was holding her. "Everything is done and over with," Aunt KC said and we all collapsed on the floor and couch in the living room.
"Mom? I'm hungry," Sophia told her mom. "Ok, let me order pizza for everyone," Aunt Bree said and got up to get the phone from the table.
"I'm going to get everyone some water," Mom got up from the couch and into the kitchen and then suddenly, an alarm went off on all of our phones.
'MISSION ALERT. REPORT TO DOOLEY DAVENPORT LAB'
"Mission alert? At this time? Oh come on!" Uncle Adam complained and we all ran downstairs in the basement to the lab to read the description of the mission lab, but there was no description, only a video file.
"Video file? That's new," Uncle Jack said and he clicked on the video file to open it and a video screen appeared. There was someone sitting in a chair, but all we could see was the outline of the person; we could not see his/her face.
"Who are you?" Uncle Chase asked the person.
"Someone who you're very close to." A man. And then we were able to clearly see the person's face, and we all were shocked to see who it was.
"Krane?!" Another man appeared behind him.
"Douglas?!" And then a woman appeared next to Douglas. "Giselle?!" Aunt Bree exclaimed.
