We all reached the bakery and my mom was a little too upset at the person who baked the cake for us. She literally dragged him to the car and was about to put him inside until Aunt Kim stopped her.
"KC, what are you doing?!" Aunt Kim stopped her and separated her from the guy.
"Let go of me, Kim!" KC pushed Aunt Kim away and she ran into Aunt Bree. I've never seen my mother this angry before. Mom grabbed the man by the collar and pulled him up from the ground and looked at him dead in the eyes. "Where are they?" She asked him.
"I-I-I-I-I-I-I don't know y-y-y-y-you're talking ab-b-b-b-bout." As he was stuttering, he was also spitting in my mother's face, which of course did not make her happy.
"If you spit in my face, I swear I will----" She was about to raise her fist until the man escaped from her grip and went down to his knees. "Please forgive me! I had no choice! If I didn't do what he told me to do, he would get rid of me and my family." The man folded his hands and started crying.
All of a sudden, Mom started to tear up. "You can't punish him for what he did, KC. Just like how we're trying to save our family, he was trying to save his as well," Aunt Bree said.
"Aunt KC, please don't hurt him," Sophia pleaded.
I looked at mom and went over to her, held her by the shoulders and had her face me. Her eyes were red and tears were flowing from her eyes.
"Mom, we can ask for this man's help to find our family and save his family as well. You always taught me this, right?" I reminded her.
Mom slightly nodded at me and looked at the man who was kneeling in front of her.
"You're also a bionic hero, KC. And as a bionic hero, you are not suppose to punish people; you're suppose to save and protect people. That is a duty of a bionic hero. You of all people should know that," Aunt Kim told her.
Mom knelt down in front of the man and held his folded hands. "If you help us find our sons and husbands, then we will help you save your family," She said.
The weeping man looked at her in the eyes. "You promise?"
"I promise that we will all save your family," Mom promised him. The man put a smile on his face, wiped his tears and got up to his feet. "I'm ready to help you, ma'am."
"Good. What can you tell us about the guy who had you do this?" Caty asked her.
"He was wearing a biker jacket, black t-shirt and jeans. He was wearing a helmet so I couldn't see his face. He told me to put sleeping pills in the cake that you ordered and I questioned why he wanted me to do that. He threatened to shut my mouth otherwise he will get rid of my family. I didn't believe him and he showed a video of my wife and two children at gunpoint in my house. I had no choice but to listen to him and I put the sleeping pills in the cake and delivered it to your home. I'm sorry, ma'am," the man explained.
"Its ok. It wasn't your fault. You only did this to save your family. You said that he was wearing a biker jacket, right?" Mom asked him. The man nodded at her.
"Was there anything written on the biker jacket? Logo, picture, design, anything?" Sophia asked him.
"No. There was nothing on the biker jacket. But I was able to get his motorcycle's license plate," The man remembered.
"Good. What did it say?" I asked him.
"TC017."
"TC017. Ok we'll look into that. Thank you so much. What is your name?" Mom asked him.
"Steven."
"Thank you so much for your help, Steven. And I promise that we will save your family. What is your home address?" Aunt Kim asked him.
Steven gave his house address to us and he went back inside. We drove back to our house and looked up on the motorcycle license plate, and we found something on it.
"Found it! TC017. The motorcycle belongs to someone with name of Tom Cage," Janelle said.
Why does that name sound familiar? "Do you know who Tom Cage is?"
"I have no idea who that is," Aunt Kim answered.
"I'm not asking you." She turned around from the computer and looked at us. "I'm talking to these four."
She pointed at me, Caty, Jada, and Sophia.
"I don't know who he is," Caty said.
"It says here that he was junior in Mission Creek High last year but due to his sister's sudden suicide, he left the school," Mom read from the computer.
His sister committed suicide?! Dang that must've been tough for the family. Feel so sorry for him and his family. I'm sure that him and his sister were really close.
"What's his sister's name?" I asked.
Mom looked back at the computer and scrolled down the page, looked back at us and said, "Theresa Cage."
Theresa Cage! I don't remember no The--oh her!
"Oh her! She was one of the most intelligent students of our school, but some stupid guy cheated on her and she committed suicide," Jada said.
"What exactly happened?" Janelle asked her daughter.
"I don't know exactly what happened. All I know is that there was some guy in our that Theresa loved but the guy never liked her. And there was a dance coming up and Theresa really wanted to go with this guy. So this unknown guy gave in and went with her, but while she was dancing, the unknown guy went missing. She then found him kissing down some other girl's throat and Theresa freaked out, and she committed suicide," Jada explained.
"Oh my god," Aunt Bree reacted.
"Poor girl," Aunt KC said.
"What the hell was that guy thinking? He can't just play around with a good heart like that," Aunt Kim said.
"It wasn't his fault. He had nothing to do with her suicide. She overreacted."
We all looked at the person who said it: Sophia. Her eyes went wide as she realized what she said.
"Sounds like you know something, Sophia," Mom said.
Sophia looked down knowing that she was screwed.
"Do you know who the mystery guy is?" Aunt Bree asked Sophia.
She nodded. "Who is it?
She didn't answer.
"I said--" Aunt Bree raised her voice until Aunt Kim stopped her.
"Bree, relax. She's only a kid. Don't raise your voice like that. Sophia, if you know who the guy is, then tell us who it was," Aunt Kim said.
She opened her mouth and said the name who I would've never guessed would be him...
"It was Luke."
