"Soda don’t just stand there, help me up!" I yell over to him while attempting to get on the horse in front of me. For about three minutes I’ve been trying to jump up on it, and Soda’s been laughing at me the whole time.
"Do I have to? I like watching you struggle." He laughed and ran his hands through his hair. After I give him an evil look he finally walks over and gives me a boost.
"There, happy princess?" He hops on to his own horse with ease.
"I’m not a princess am I Pony?" I pout playfully.
"Nah, you ain’t." He sides with me before riding off down the path.
Horse back riding is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done. The view from being high up is fascinating. It was Ponyboy’s idea to go when the sun is setting, which made the whole experience even better.
"Wow, it’s so pretty." I say as I take in my surroundings.
"Yep, each sunset is different every day." Pony adds stopping his horse next to mine.
"Come on slowpokes, we don’t want it to get dark because I don’t really know where we are." Soda comes galloping on his horse past us heading back towards the stables.
"What? Are you serious? You don’t know how many times I’ve almost got lost here." I quickly follow him. After about 20 minutes we get to the stables and put the horses back. We take some time to say goodbye to them before we walk back to camp.
***************************************
Sunday quickly came, and before I knew it I was back at my apartment trying to pack my things together for school tomorrow. All that my acceptance letter said is a basic color leotard with tights and tap, ballet, jazz, and pointe shoes. I get out my silver dance bag with a silhouette of a dancer on it. I’ve had this bag since I first started dancing, and always used it for important events and classes. After I’m packed up, I get a shower and watch T.V. for the rest of the night.
"Alright ladies, last time for today and then we’re done. And 5,6,7,8!" The dance instructor Mrs. Susan calls out for about the hundredth time. I gracefully go through the moves, losing myself in the music. To be honest, I am exhausted and haven’t danced this much since I was in Pittsburgh. I got up at 7 AM and finally pulled up to the school at 8:30. From 9 to 9:30 was warm ups. Then Ballet for 2 hours, and Pointe for one. Finally at 12:30 I had lunch for an hour before going back to tap and jazz. It was almost 4:30 and even though I had a long day here, I had to go to work.
Before I know it, the dance is over and I’m walking out into the parking lot. As I make my way over to my car I see a tall figure leaning up against it.
"Dally! What are you doing here?" I practically knock him down with a big bear hug. He pulls my chin up with his hand and gives me a peck on the lips.
"Eh, Two Bit was driving me around town today, and I told him to drop me off here. His car almost broke down twice! No way in hell was I staying in there much longer." He shrugs.
I break away from the hug. "Oops, sorry. I’m all sweaty. I’m also exhausted but I don’t have to work till 6:00 so you can come hang at my place for a while."
"Sounds good." He says with a playful smirk before hopping in the passenger’s seat.
I drop Dally off at Tim Shepherd’s before heading over to work. It’s a diner, smaller than the Dingo and not as trashy. A lot of Socs go there, which can sometimes cause trouble if a greaser shows up. Usually everyone behaves themselves because the food is real good and NO ONE wants to get on the owner, Bill’s bad side.
I trot over to my first table for today, but not before I pour myself a cup of coffee of course. If I’m gonna make it until 10, I’m gonna need some caffeine in my system. It’s the typical group of four, two boys and two girls probably out on a double date or something. They look like Socs, and stuck up but I put a smile on my face any ways.
"Hello welcome to the Finer Diner, (how lame) how may I hel-" I nearly choke on my bubble gum when I see Randy and Bob staring back at me.
Author's Note: I know I've been bad with updating, but I promise I will try to do it at least twice a week. I've been very buisy and sick but I'm gonna try to make more time for writing! Thanks, and be sure to comment, vote, and fan so I know if I should continue with this story or not!
