me dragging my old book covers for a whole chapter

*sips tea* welcome

i've been making book covers since 2016 and since then (hopefully) i've improved quite a bit. but, my improvement through those two years don't erase the horrid, old covers i made back then so this whole chapter is going to be dedicated to that and me laughing at its terribleness. protect your eyes, my graphics will probably blind you from its sheer ugliness 🤢

also, the rating for these book covers are pretty different from your average one so i will explain the possible ratings from one to five down below!

zero means the absolute worst and should die in a hole
one means disgusting and should hide in a hole to never be seen again
two means gross and should hide in a hole for a while, but not forever
three means ugly and should be dropped down a hole but not a steep one
four means icky and should take refuge in a hole for a week or so
five means slightly decent and should still hide in a hole but only for a day

*barfing in the background*

this graphic has no sense of style at all ?? we have two decorative fonts paired together and they're not a look. that thing encasing the "by" and "adoraisnotonfire" is simply distracting and they look hideous. and i question past sisley for her reasoning behind adding those music notes beside "kiing" ?? how does music notes have anything to do with the book ?? and if your intention behind the music notes was to add some "pizzazz" to the cover then it's definitely not working because it's u g l y 🤮 but don't get me started on those two hearts and the star in the middle of it. what ?? what ?? are all of these symbols just to make up for the lack of subject in this graphic ?? probably. and in conclusion, this cover is a solid —

oddly enough i remember that my friends said they liked this cover but i don't see anything to like in it. my, my, my - this one really sucks. although there's white outlining the text, you still can't see it clearly and i think it would've been better if past sisley made the text white instead for it to stand out against all the dark hues in the background. plus, the resolution of the picture isn't that great which only decreases its quality (*cough* like it had quality to begin with). however, the drawings in the middle are actually really cute bUT THIS CHAPTER IS CALLED ME DRAGGING MY OLD BOOK COVERS FOR A WHOLE CHAPTER SO NO PRAISE TOWARDS MY OLD GRAPHICS - NONE.

sigh ,,, 🤧 sorry to be rude but the font of "of the" is really ugly and doesn't work well with the entire cover. all the fonts i used didn't even go well together and it looks like a solid mess. the background picture is pretty, but then i had to ruin it with my skills 😷 the white shadow on the title doesn't look cool and instead it makes it look more trashy than if it was without it. the picture of the person looking into a puddle and seeing their reflection with the umbrella looks like it just popped up there and seems so odd paired with the background. instead, past sisley should've tried and blended it with the background to make it not seem so excruciatingly obvious. one word: yuck 🤢
