At this table is Levi, Erwin, Hange, Nile, and Darius. Pixis was supposed to be here but became occupied with the Garrison that's helping clean up the plugged district. This is a meeting that Darius called to discuss the further orders for the Survey Corps and what he has decided to do with Eren. At first, I intended to hear him out and listen to what he was going to tell us to do. Now that I've seen what he allowed to be done to Eren, I am putting my foot down.

I'm sitting at the head of the table, using my knife to chip away at a block of wood. The shavings are falling at my feet and under my chair. It's the only way I can stop myself from cutting off his fingers. "So, we have been reviewing the reports from the last trip outside the walls that the Survey Corps took," Darius begins. "There is a lot to take into account here. You all have wasted so much money without making any sort of progress toward the freedom of mankind. However, there isn't anyone else to go outside the wall so we have to make do."

I click my tongue, blowing some dust from the wood. "We're doing more than both divisions combined," I mumble.

I feel Erwin kick me under the table. I glare at him, going back to cutting away at the wood. I know Erwin can't do much with one arm but he shouldn't expect me to show respect right now. I showed Hange and him Eren's injuries. He should understand why I'm so ticked off. "I think we need to focus more on getting two of humanity's strongest soldiers back in soldier mode then we can worry about the budget," Nile says.

While pregnant, I wasn't allowed to do any kind of training. This definitely included the ban of using the maneuvering gear. After Suri was born, Levi and I dedicated all of our time to raising her. I've also had to lose the weight I gained and get my body back into its original physical shape. Darius put Hange in charge of signing off on me returning to training. When that happens, Levi and I will begin training the new Elite Squad as we planned from the start. I must also claim Erwin's place as commander. Hange is only acting-commander until our situations become better.

Hange nods, agreeing with Nile. "I planned on doing Saichi's evaluation tomorrow afternoon before I cleared her for training."

"What does this evaluation consists of?" Darius asks.

"Mostly seeing if her body can still withstand the use of the gear. It has been a very long time so I do have some concerns with how her body will old. She recovered well after childbirth so there's a chance she'll be just fine, even if she has some limits."

Erwin chuckles. "I look forward to having both of them back. I believe the Scouts have a greater chance outside the wall when the both of them are fighting together."

I'm tired of this small talk. Obviously, Levi doesn't care. The tea he's drinking is ten times more interesting to him than this conversation. I finally stab my knife into the table to cut off any useless conversing they have going on. I drop the wood at my feet. "How about we talk about something more important and bothering?" I state. I look at Darius. "What do you plan to do with that team that took it upon themselves to abuse my subordinate?"

He narrows his eyes, formulating the answer in his head. He better be careful what he says next. I'm close enough to take an eye from where I sit. "I looked over the records from the experiments being performed on Eren Yeager," he replies. "I haven't discovered anything that's worth causing a fuss about."

"A fuss? So causing unnecessary pain to a teenage boy is called for to you?"

"They are following my orders. They are doing what they can to find anything useful so we can use him to save the dying number of humans."

"I do believe some things done to Eren were cruel and out of spite," Hange adds.

He was just as upset as I was when he saw what they did. He knew from the start that he should have been the one working with Eren, not those people. While acting-commander, his hands were tied. Darius sighs, rubbing his temples. "I'll have a meeting and discuss what they're doing. Is that good enough?"

Erwin has to lower his head so Darius doesn't see his smirk. I had no intentions of allowing Darius to handle this situation. I knew he wouldn't give Eren the justice he deserved. I planned to make them pay. It didn't take long for me to find their lab and to wait for them to arrive all at once. Within the hour, Erwin and Levi arrived at the same location to a bloodied room. I was covered from head to toe with only a single knife in my hand. There was barely parts of a human to identify. I blacked out. I lost control. It's been a long time since it has happened. I will not lie to myself. It felt great.

I pull my knife from the table and slip it under the back of my vest. "That won't be necessary," I speak in a soft voice. "I did all the talking for you."

"Excuse me?"

Nile clears his throat. We notified him before and after the fact. He looked the other way as a favor he owed me, one of many. He slides Darius a single paper. "The Military Police discovered those men were involved in illegal human trafficking and a drug system that has been going on for months now in the inner district. We planned to arrest them all. It was to my understanding they would be put to death but-"

I stand, stretching. "I just did their job, as we have always done."

He looks over the paper then throw it down, looking at me with fired up eyes. "You killed ten people?! I should have you arrested."

As if. You need me. "This isn't about me. This is about what you allowed to happen to a young boy. Eren has done nothing but just serve the cause and be the best soldier he can be. All people like you have done is put him through hell."

"That boy is a monster. It isn't a crime when he is treated like one!"

A monster, huh? People throw that word around without thought. A monster isn't something physical. A monster can sit within someone, circle in their minds in their hearts. The ones that abused me as a child and the men that hurt Eren are very great examples. I slam my hands on the table. "I'll tell you what is a crime, however. You being the most powerful person at this table yet you can't tell me a single about the boy that has been saddled with the fate of humanity. You don't know he hates the color white for some stupid reason! You don't know he has wanted to join the Scouts since he was a little boy! You don't know that he is the dumbest subordinate I have ever had! However, he has been the most dedicated! He is willing to die for the cause yet no else one seems to care! None of your people seem to give a damn about the boy that's carrying the weight of three divisions! How dare you call him a monster when he cares more about humanity than you do!"

There's silence. Eventually, Darius slowly stands. "Saichi, I will have you arrested for treason if you don't stand down right now."

I sigh. "My own daughter can see how human he is. She is able to sleep beside him and laugh around him like the normal being he is. If a baby, an innocent baby can do that, so can you and the rest of humanity. Because of the slander, he has no chance to win their respect at this point." I glance at Erwin and he gives me a subtle nod. I'm done. There's nothing more for me to say. As his loyal dog, he has the say so. "Let your people know, if they touch my subordinate again, I'll slaughter every single one of them."
