James Madison's POV

I was sitting on the college campus, reading my third book of the week. The air was warmer then usual for a fall afternoon, so I had my sweater lying on my lap. Others where chatting, running, or on their phones. It was calming.

Someone wearing a pink sweatshirt ran by and a phone fell out of their pocket. I reached down to grab it.  When I looked back up they were gone. I stood up and looked around, holding the phone in my hands.  I put into my bag, with intentions on giving it back. I swear.

I grabbed my bag and headed to my dorm, that I shared with the infamous, Samuel Seabury. He was okay, he was just always talking shit about people. He had a good personality, I guess. He was weak and nerdy. But still I got picked on more than him.

I opened the dorm door and Samuel was playing his xBox from the top bunk. I threw my keys around the ring by the door.

"Hello Samuel," I said putting my bag on my bed.

"Sup?"

God I hated when he spoke like that. I didn't respond. Instead I took out the phone and turned it on. The background was a picture of a girl. I frowned. I had never seen her before.

"Madison? Get me a soda aye?" Samuel interrupted my thoughts.

"Yes." I went to the kitchen and got him one.

See Samuel and I had an alliance as dorm mates; if I were to do him small favors for example, getting him a pop, then in return he would never speak a bad word about me. But also never a good one...

He took it and opened it with his teeth.

"Know anyone with a magenta hoodie?" I asked him.

"Shut up... I'm trying to concentrate!"

I took a deep breath and sighed. This is how it has been for the past 3 months, and I didn't expect it to end soon.

I grabbed my bag and decided to go to the library. "I'm going out again, goodbye."

I didn't wait for an answer as I slipped out the door.

I wandered about the shelves in the fiction section, running my fingers across the spines of the books. I found an old favorite and sat down at a table to read it. I was soon distracted by loud giggling.

"-And then he winked and walked away!"

"Oh grow up Liz."

I leaned back in my chair to see the Schyluer sisters in the back of the library. Everyone loved them, Peggy, Eliza, and the eldest, Angelica. They were all kind and sweet, but they were popular, and therefore not friend material.

"Well I think it's kinda cute!" Peggy huffed.

"I know right!" Eliza said.

"And whats his name again?"  Angelica asked.

"Alexander Hamilton..." she had a dreamy hint in her voice.

I flinched at the name. Ew, I thought, why him? They're are plenty of better guys out there.

Someone in red walked past me and towards the sisters. "Can you guys please be quiet?"  I recognized that voice as Maria Lewis. She had some very good points when I had a debate with her, she earned my respect.

Angelica laughed. "Yeah we should work on that." She glared back at Peggy, who burst out laughing.

"Thank you..." she turned around and came back near me. "What're you staring at at?"

I hadn't realized I was. "It wasn't at you, I'm sorry"  I went back to my book.

She went out of the library as soon as the sisters left.

I closed my book and put it back in its place on the shelf. I was about to leave when I spotted my sweater draped over one of the popular boy's shoulder. But it wasn't just any popular boy. It was THE popular boy, Thomas Jefferson and he was wearing a pink sweatshirt.
