Texting & Attempted Break Ups

That evening we watched Princess Bride with Maria again. Except that time Maria brought over tea. It was really good.

Soon I was back in my dorm trying to think of the perfect post for my tumblr. To be honest, I was kinda losing my hope in tumblr after the "purge." It just wasn't the same.

I ended up dramatically closing my laptop lid causing Sam to snap at me.

"It is 1 in the morning! Try to have a little respect."

"Jeesh, chill," I rolled my eyes at him even though it was dark and he was in the bunk above me.

I couldn't keep my mind off of the incredible event that Thomas had pulled off.  I mean who would've thought he'd put on a dress so I'd go watch Princess Bride with him again?

And now I had his phone number. That was cool right?  So far we'd only sent some cat gifs to each other but you have to start somewhere.

I also had Maria's number and she kept teasing me about Thomas. (Her name was ReeRee in my phone.... ya know)

ReeRee: The Great Thomaroni Macaroni does magic in bed too

James: Maria, NO-
I have a boyfriend and how would you know? Is you being his assistant just a cover up?

ReeRee: that's only what I want you to think... see I don't want anyone to even THINK that I'm a raging lesbian and dating Ariana Grande she says I have to keep our relationship a secret so I have to pretend to be a hetero so no one knows god is woman is really Ari singing about me plus Thomas is the kind of best friend who talks WAAAAYYYY to much about his privte life And clearly you're problem is u need me to help you break up with the dickwad that is Charlie lee.

Her text messages were painful to read

James: It's actually Charles Lee. And you wish you were dating Ariana.

ReeRee: See it's working and honey you just need to talk to Charlie see if you maybe take a break???

James: I don't need to take a break, everything's fine. And why would I? Look, Thomas is just a good friend

ReeRee: OoOoOooOooh SURE. Gn honey you need some beauty rest

James: I can see you rolling your eyes all the way in your dorm. Goodnight, Maria, you're really fun to talk to, thanks a bunch

ReeRee: awww 😘😘 I'll talk to you tomorrow James sleep tight

I clicked my phone off and slid it under my pillow. Maria really was great to talk to, definitely as a friend. I was confident in that. I just wasn't confident in the friend thing with Thomas.

Surprisingly sleep came easy and my alarm was going off. Samuel must've already left because there was no pillow-throwing. I rolled out of bed to get dressed but I got distracted by the 10 text messages on my phone screen.

2 from Charles, the other 8 from Thomas.

I opened Charles' first, they were more recent.

Charles: What the fuck happened last night? (8:03 a.m.)

Where'd you go??? You better not ignore me (8:27 a.m.)
