Burnt Mac and Cheese with a Side of Weird

Someone burnt their mac and cheese.

The whole building evacuated and I almost had a panic attack because Thomas didn't.

He may have been on my nerves but I still cared about him.

I was calmed when Headmaster Schuyler came out and explained that someone just forgot to put water in their microwave mac and cheese.

Maria laughed her ass off because she knew it had to have been Thomas. It took her five whole minutes to stop.

I walked back to my dorm in my own lonesome. 

Samuel was sitting on the top bunk playing Fortnite. 

"Yo," he said.

"Hello?" It came out more of a question.

"Jeffershit and Hamilass are expelled."

"I know."

"How?" He hadn't looked up from the game once.

"I talked with Thomas."

"Even after-FUCK YOU! Even after last night?"

"What'd you mean?"

"DIE YOU BLOODY CUNT! What I mean, is that last night you lot seemed like you were going through something." 

"Eh, it's not really your business now is it?" 

"I'm suing Hamilass." 

"Why?" 

"'Cause I can."

I rolled my eyes. 

"You realize that you could ruin his life by doing that? If he was found guilty?" 

"The cunt deserves it. FUCK OFF! BLOODY BOT!" 

I was used to his video game yelling by then. 

I slid onto my bed, pulling open my laptop. 

"Why does Hamilton bother you so much?" I asked. 

"I could ask the same of you." 

"That's fair." 

"Yeah, I fucking know, that's why I said it." 

The tv clicked off. 

Samuel's head appeared, peeking over the side of the bunk. 

"Hey, you know that George- King and I aren't together anymore?" 

"Really?" 

"Yeah, so actually, I was curious if-" 

"Open up, you pillock!" A feminine voice called from the hallway. 

"Who's that?" I asked.

"That'll be my sister, Abby..." Samuel grumbled, "I'll get it." 

He gracefully fell off the bed and stumbled to the door. 

"Hullo, Sammy." I heard her say. 

"How'd you do. Come in, now." 

I finally caught a glimpse of her; much taller than Samuel, same brown hair, hers cut in a bob, overall a female version of Samuel. 

"Abby, this is my mate, Jameson. James, my oldest sister, Abigail."

I still couldn't figure out why he called me Jameson.

"Hello," I said.

"Alright, so you've got to tell me what your plan is because honestly, mum is pretty pissed that you won't talk to her."  Her accent was way heavier than Samuel's. 

"Well, tell her to piss off." 

"Sam..." 

"Thought you were coming here to go to the cinema with me. I thought you wanted the pink fairy-floss." 

"I do! Just mum wanted me to tell you that." 

I watched them with interest, pretending to be typing something very important on my Tumblr feed. 

"Fine. How's Gilbert?" 

"Brilliant as always. Think he's going to drop the big question sooner or later. Oi, is your mate gonna come along?" 

Samuel glanced at me. 

"Want to come, James?" 

"Uh..."

"You've got to!" Abby said, "I'd love to get to know some of Sammy's friends, even if it's just one."

"I'm good." The movie theatre brought up bad feelings.

"Next time, yeah?" 

"Abigail, leave him alone, let's go." 

"Fine, you minger." 

Samuel practically had to push his sister out of the room. He waved at me before leaving.

 Weird. 

I glanced back at my computer screen to see I had a new email, from an unknown email address. 

It read: 

You are receiving this email because you believe you might be one of us

Tonight - Center Square - 1 am - Be there or else 

- AOD

A fucking troll email. I deleted it. 

Then I took it out of my trash, just in case. Why was it so vague? 

Obviously, I wasn't going to go. 

It was most likely a prank.

My phone dinged from in my pocket. 

I had gotten a text from Maria. 

ReeRee: Got super wierd emil know what is ???? 

Attached was a screenshot of the same email I had just gotten. 

James: No idea what it is. I also just received it. 

ReeRee: rlly?? wnt to go w me 

James: Sure, why not? 

ReeRee: good c u tn!

I switched my phone off.

I wondered if the "AOD" were initials. And if they were, whose? 

It was all very interesting. And weird. Super weird. Fucking weird. (Maria's favorite line from that one Rent song)

What a fucking wacky day. 

Could it get any weirder? 

I shouldn't have asked myself that...

It could get weirder. 

And it did. 

I only had to wait until one in the morning to find out how weird.
