This Isn't Easy

The bus stopped and I heard the guys talking then saw them outside. Matt waved at me once he saw me in the window. I smiled and pulled Ryan behind me as I got off the bus. It was just a quick stop at the Cumberland Falls to look around. I had to say, it was beautiful. Ryan held me close and we watched the waterfall. Everyone went back to the bus except for me, Ryan, Matt, and Josh. I had a feeling Matt wanted to try to talk about the baby but Josh wouldn’t leave.

“Josh, I think Barry needs your help with Scott.” Matt said.

“Scott isn’t pissed off and Barry can do it himself. What’s your problem, Matt?” Josh asked as he walked off. I sighed and wanted to calm him down but I knew it wouldn’t be easy to keep me being pregnant from slipping out.

“It’ll be alright, baby.” Ryan said as he rubbed my back. I wanted to tell him but it wasn’t the right time.

“Ryan’s right, Claire. Right now we need to focus on the tour and it’ll stress you out more.” Matt said and I closed my eyes.

“I’m not really stressed right now. It’s bound to come up at some point.” I said and walked back to the bus, leaving Matt and Ryan shrugging shoulders at each other. Things weren’t going to be easy. I got back to the bus and Barry looked at me. I wasn’t really feeling good and Barry could tell.

“Are you feeling alright, Claire?” Barry asked and I gave him a confused look.

“Yeah, I’m just tired.” I replied and I knew that he didn’t buy that one bit. Matt and Ryan came onto the bus and saw me and Barry talking.

“Right, since you were in the back bedroom the whole time we were on the highway until we stopped.” Barry said and Matt looked at me.

“I wasn’t asleep. I was playing on the laptop and Matt or Ryan can witness that.” I said, stubbornly. Ryan came up to me and wrapped his arm around my waist. Matt nodded at my remark and Barry dropped it then went to his bunk to blare music into his ears. Josh was sitting on the couch, playing Bioshock on the X-Box. I walked over to him and tapped his shoulder. He looked up at me.

“Can I join you?” I asked and he smiled as he handed me the other controller. Everyone knew I didn’t play girl games on any electronic. I played all the shooting, bloody boy video games. I was a beast at them for being a girl. Ryan smiled at me then went to the back bedroom. Scott was in his bunk and stopped Ryan.

“What’s up with Claire? What did you do to her?” Scott asked him, a little loudly. It caused everyone, except Barry, to look over at them. I about got up until Josh used his arm to keep me still. Matt walked over and was trying to reason with Scott.

“Scott, you need to leave him alone.” Matt said and Ryan looked over at me. I sighed as it was killing me on the inside.

“Fine.” Scott said and Ryan went into the bedroom. I closed my eyes and Josh held me close.

“It’s fine, Claire.” Josh said and Matt looked over at us. I knew that it killed him not to keep the secret from them as it was killing me.

“I need to talk to Matt.” I said, getting up. My vision was getting blurry and my balance was getting bad as I walked. I held my head and Matt grabbed ahold of me.

“You need to sit down.” Matt said and I shook my head.

“We need to talk.” I said and he nodded, taking me where Ryan was. Ryan looked up at us.

“Are you okay, baby?” Ryan asked and Matt looked at him then me.

“She almost passed out.” Matt said as I sat on the bed.

“I can’t keep it a secret anymore. We need to tell them.” I stated and they both looked at me like I was crazy. “It’s killing me that they don’t know.” I added.

“Baby, I know it does but it can wait.” Ryan said and Matt looked at me.

“Wait until the tour is over, okay?” Matt asked and I sighed as I nodded. Matt patted my shoulder than walked out. I laid down next to Ryan, who touched my forehead.

“You’re warm, baby.” he said and I frowned. He knew that I hated being sick and it was going to be a long road since I was pregnant and would be sick a fair bit. He laid with me as I slept the rest of the way to where they were supposed to perform. I didn’t feel like getting up at all.
