Say Amen - Panic! At the Disco

~3rd Person POV~

Jessica walks around the Waverider, her talons clicking against the metal floors with each step. As she rounds a corner, she spots Sara walking back toward her quarters and when Sara sees Jessica, her pace quickens.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" Jessica chirps in response and follows Sara around the ship till she finds Nathan in the library. "Come on, we're gonna have an English lesson with the lizard."

Jessica tugs Sara's hair.

"Ow!"

"You called her a lizard," Nathan laughs. "You did that to yourself."

"Lesson learned," Sara rubs the back of her head with one hand and points at Jessica with the other.

"So where are we going to get our teacher on?" Nathan tries to be cool earning strange stares from both Jessica and Sara.

"We can go to the captain's quarters," Sara suggests. "No one's ever in there but me anyways."

"True," Nate nods. "What are we waiting for?" The three go their separate ways all toward Sara's room where they would try and commune with Jessica.

Once everyone is is at the foot of Sara's bed and the door is locked, Jessica shifts.

"So what's your name?" Sara asks as she falls back on the bed.

"Jessica," she answers with a short, thankful, and proud glance at Nate.

"I had to teach her how to say her own name," Nathan explains to Sara.

"Really?" She asks then sighs. "This is gonna take a lot of work."

"Yes," Jessica groans.

"I mean, that has to suck," Nate starts. "To have all these thoughts and things that she wants to say but she can't," a switch suddenly flips in Jessica's head and she looks around for something to help her communicate. "You need the letters?"

"Yes!" Nate pulls up a picture of the alphabet on the TV mounted to the wall. Jessica slowly spells out Amaya's name.

"Amaya?" Sara asks.

"What about Amaya?" Nate furrows his brows. Jessica rapidly taps her collar bone where Amaya's totem would be.

"Her totem takes the spirit of any animal she chooses," Sara recalls.
