~3rd person POV~

Jessica wakes up to Ray lightly rocking her. She jumps up and shines brightly as she takes her human form and wraps her arms around his neck. She starts crying into his shoulder, filled over the top with joy of his return.

"I was so scared," she whispers to him.

"Me too," Ray admits, squeezing her tightly. "I woke you up because we have to re-enter the earth's atmosphere and it might get bumpy. I don't want you to get hurt. C'mon."

He bends slightly and wraps his arms around her waist, lifting her off the ground as he stands straight. She lets out a giggle and wraps her legs around him as he carries her out the room towards the bridge where the rest of the team is. Right outside the doors to the bridge, Jessica unwraps her legs and Ray let's her onto the floor so they can walk in together.

"Sara, you have to power down every non-essential piece of hardware on the ship," Grey commands them.

"Gideon is already shut down," Sara answers. "Waverider is using gravitational inertia to float back to Earth." She gets a few surprised looks from the team. "What? I know science."

"It isn't enough," Grey presses. "If you want to activate the heat shields, and survive re-entry, you have to conserve more power now."

"Stein is right," Rip agrees. "We need to shut down the water filtration and the heating systems."

"Right, because clean water and heat, we don't need those to survive," Nathan sasses.

"You got a better idea?" Amaya returns the sass.

"At the moment, no," Nate gives.

"Well, bundle up, 'cause it's about to get chilly," Sara throws out one of her cool lines.

"Actually, if the shields don't work, atmospheric re-entry'll burn us all to a crisp," Henry corrects her. After hearing this, Jessica begins to worry again, not just for Ray and herself, but for the whole team.

"Stein, we're ready for re-entry," Sara tells him.

"What's the status of your secondary thrusters?" The professor asks.
