~3rd Person POV~
Jessica is the first to wake, and she realizes she's stuck. Not just because she doesn't want to wake Ray, but because his arm is wrapped tightly around her. She smiles to herself, staying still all the while so she doesn't wake him. She closes her eyes and tries to go back to sleep until Ray wakes.
She doesn't have to try long before she hears Ray let out a deep breath as he wakes up. Jessica stays still so Ray doesn't think she's awake. The first move he makes is taking his arm from around Jessica's body, leaving a cold spot on her stomach. Ray lets out a sigh and Jessica's animal senses pick up on a bit of panic from him. She holds back a giggle to keep her act going.
Ray moves from laying on his side to laying on his back and from there, he stays still and silent for a while until Jessica sits up.
"Hey," he greets her. "Did I wake you up?"
"No," she answers. "I've been up."
"Y-you were?" He stutters as he sits up. Jessica giggles to herself. "Hey, what're you laughing at?"
"You," she answers with a smile.
"Why're you laughing at me?" He asks her.
"I'm an animal," she answers. "I feel what you feel. You scared at something."
"No I'm not," he retaliates.
"You can't lie to me," she keeps giggling. "I don't know what it was, but I won't ask. You win this time."
"There was nothing to win!" He keeps defending himself.
"Want something to win?" She asks him.
"What do you mean?" He asks. Jessica grabs a pillow from behind her and whacks Ray with it. He grunts as it hits him and he quickly grabs his pillow, swinging it around and smacking Jessica with it. They both laugh as pillows are thrown around and they hit each other. Ray manages to swat Jessica's pillow from her hands and she immediately hides under the blanket.
"You win!" She tells him as she slowly comes out from under the covers. "You win."
"I'll take that win," he answers and silently admires Jessica's smiling face. "You wanna shower?" He offers.
