Chapter 31: Moved On

Gwen's POV

"Mommy!"

Rosetta ran towards me and gave me a hug and a kiss. I had been fetching her from school for more than a year now, but she still looked so excited every time I picked her up.

"Hi, sweetheart! How's your day?"

She gave me a wide smile that showed her bright teeth with pinkish cheeks and cute little eyes. "I had fun, mommy. My classmates are so nice to me. I also got a perfect score in the quiz!"

"Wow! Congratulations, sweetheart! As always, you are doing great. I love you!" I kissed her after she said she loved me too.

Hinatid ko na siya pauwi. It was my routine to pick her up after work. If minsan na hindi talaga ako makakauwi ng maaga, Manang Daisy would pick her up.

Rosetta somehow had adjusted here sa Pilipinas. She somehow learned to understand Tagalog lalo na at tinatagalog siya ng ibang mga kaklase niya. She's trying her best to learn how to speak it. Kaya proud na proud ako sa anak ko dahil ang bilis niyang matuto.

"Granny!"

Mom hugged Rosetta as she approached her. Magkasundo talaga silang dalawa.

"My beautiful apo. How's your day? Granny baked some cupcakes for you," mom said as she squeezed her tiny nose gently.

"Really, granny? Yay! Thank you po," she said and ran to the kitchen.

Napailing ako habang palapit kay mommy.

"Baka magselos yung ibang mga apo niyo niyan, mommy," I kidded her.

Nagbeso muna ako kay mommy bago siya nagsalita. "Lahat naman sila sinasabihan ko na maganda. Kakaalis lang ng Ate Genie mo. Hindi kayo nagpang-abot na dalawa."

"Did she bring Priscilla with her?" Tumango si mommy. "Iniwan niya sakin ang bata kasi may pinuntahan siya kanina. Bumalik din naman siya agad."

I nodded. Inikot ko ang paningin ko sa buong bahay bago binalik ang tingin ko kay mommy. "Mom, nasaan si dad? Nandito na ba siya?"

Umiling si mommy. "He's not here yet. Baka gagabihin na yun ng uwi. Alam mo naman kung gaano ka-busy ang daddy mo."

"I told him na kami na ang bahala ni Kuya Gray sa iba pero ayaw naman niya."

"Well, that's your dad."

Nagyaya ng kumain si mommy kaya sabay kaming tatlo na nagdinner. Pumunta ako sa kwarto ko after naming kumain. Rosetta had her own bedroom na kaya hindi na kami magkasamang matulog. Besides, she was old enough to sleep on her own saka ayaw ko ding masanay siya na katabi ako.

I took a shower and dressed up bago ko pinuntahan si Rosetta sa kwarto niya to check on her. She was doing her homework with Manang Daisy. I told her to sleep after she's done. Nag-good night na ako sa kanya before going back to my room. Maaga pa kasi akong gigising bukas para e-prepare ang baon niya at saka ihahatid siya sa school.

I went to my bed and laid down. I turned the TV on. Yun kasi ang sleeping pill ko, ang manuod ng TV para makatulog. As usual, the teleseryes were boring. I was not a fan of corny and cheesy dramas. I preferred to watch something wherein I could learn from it. So I watched documentaries or trivia or business-related type of shows instead of other nonsense.

Now let's explore about business magazine. This month's feature is no other than the handsome, gorgeous, smart and famous bachelor, Aaron Loyzaga. He has been the front cover of business and men's magazines for months. He is admired by many because of his achievements. He's now an inspiration to many. But is this bachelor taken? Women are curious to know but up to now, Loyzaga remains to keep silent about this issue.
