The Big Four (And Friends) In Hogwarts

Chapter 2

Hiccup POV:

I was reading through the list of things to bring to Hogwarts as Astrid and Snotlout packed. I had finally got to the "Pets" section of the list. It said:

Toads, Cats and Owls are permitted as companions. Any other animal found in a student's care will be immediately confiscated.

What?! But, but Toothless!, I thought to myself. "Are you okay Hiccup? Come on, Toothless will be fine." Astrid spoke and I was pulled out of my daydream.

"Did you read my mind or did I say that out loud?" I asked her.

"No. You did say it out loud but doesn't your, um... 'Training' at this academy mean you can change lists?"

"No. Each of these lists are enchanted by Edmund Sagewhisper himself." I patted Toothless on his head and he purred. "I'll miss you bud."

"Alright I'm ready to go," Snotlout came out of his Viking shack. "Aw, is little Hiccup afraid to leave his wimpy little dragon? Well, Hookfang is stronger than that! He will stay strong and bear my loss."

I rolled my eyes. "Come on," I interrupted before he could really start his monologue. "Diagon Ally is waiting for us."

Rapunzel POV:

I couldn't believe it! A place I've never even heard of and it wants me! although for a school it does have weird school items. A cauldron, a wand... Never mind! I'm going! And the best bit is, Eugene is coming with me!

"Uh, Mum?" I asked my mum, the Queen of Corona. "Where can I buy all this stuff?"

She laughed at this. "You never bothered to finish reading the list, did you?"

"Uh, of course I did, maybe... Ok so I didn't! Why does it matter so much?"

"Because at the bottom of the list it says, 'The aforementioned items can be purchased at Diagon Alley, which is accessible through all Leaky Cauldron retailers with the password of Gold.' That's why."

"Um, so what's that mean?"

"The princess of Corona and her husband are going to Diagon Alley."

Merida POV:

Mum dropped me and the triplets off in front of the Leaky Cauldron, a dingy old bar not fit to be a pigsty. I shook my head and signaled to the boys to follow me inside.

I walked up to the bartender. "Four gold bars," I said. He nodded to a door behind him. I turned to Harris. "Go through the door with Hubert and Hamish and wait for me on the other side. Wait, alright? Mum would kill me if I lost you lot."

The reason I was staying behind was a tall, white-haired boy had just walked in. He looked like trouble, and I was determined to find out if this was true or not.

Jack POV:

The bar was a dark, damp little place. Bit like North's Workshop, except smaller. I was 3 steps in the door when I heard a voice. 'Who are you and why are you here?"

"Gold," I replied easily. "And you?"

"Same," the voice replied, and stepped out of the shadows. She was a girl with unruly and tangled red hair, emerald green eyes and 3 identical figures peeping out from behind her legs. She looked about 15 or 16. "My name's Merida," she went on."And I have been homeschooled since I started the Hogwarts studies. I don't have a house because of this."

"My story's practically the same, except my name's Jack. Jack Frost." She had the same wave of rememberance everyone has when I tell then my name. Watching them stand the like zombies has almost lost the fun in it. Almost.

"So, who are your friends?" I asked Merida casually.

"What friends?" she replied, then realised the 3 little kids behind her. "Harris! Hamish! Hubert! I told you to go through the door!"

"Whatever," one of the 3 triplets (Hamish, I think) replied. "You didn't tell us when to go through the door. You just told us to go through. So we'll go through now, with you and your friend." I could practically see the italics as he said it. The 3 of them walked off, Merida following close behind. I took one last look at the door, and followed them through the door.
