Merida POV
I ran from the hall, my face as red as my tie. Tears streaked my face. I ran hard, sweat dripping off me, breathing hard as I pounded down the staircases to the Gryffindor common room.
"Password?" the fat lady inquired. "Oh, you know me! Just let me in!" I snapped at the fat lady. She looked taken aback, but still listened and the painting swung open. I ran inside. To my surprise, Anna was sitting on the couch inside.
"Anna?" I sniffled. She looked at me.
"Oh, I didn't expect anyone else to stay behind from dinner." She said to me, surprised.
"Well, I started to fight this wimpy boy, and, no offense to him, but he looked like a pushover, so I fought him, but he totally asked for it! But then, as soon as I was about to finish him off these dragons flew in! They were big, green or blue or purple, and they scared the heck out of me!
"So I ran away, and now I'm here." I finished.
"What do you think will happen to the dragons?" Anna asked me. I frowned in concentration, then answered as truthfully as I could.
"I don't know."
Hiccup POV
The wind blew through my hair, slapping it into my face and stinging my eyes. The Scauldrons' wings all beat in rhythm. 1 and 2 and 1 and 2...
"Hiccup?" I heard a familiar voice come from behind me, so I turned around. Ice-blue eyes stared into my brown ones. Astrid frowns at me, trying to concentrate on my expression. I turned away, then prepared myself to speak. "Well, Astrid. Have you something to say to me?" My tone was calculating and cold. Jack would be proud.
"Um," Astrid sounded awkward. "Look, Hiccup, I'm actually really sorry about what has happened. Not just what happened to you, but, what happened to... us." She stopped there and took an audible breath, trying to relax. "Is there an us?"
I was the one to take a breath at that. Is there an us? Is there an us? Is there an us... Her voice replayed over and over in my head.
"Hiccup?" Astrid spoke again, nervously.
"Astrid, I don't know. The way you've treated me, and what's happened, with the houses and stuff... It's really up to what decision you make now." As I finished speaking, my eyes glazed over.
"Hiccup, I want to be with you, I really do. But after what I did, I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do. I'm not sure I deserve you."
"Well, we'll find where these Scauldrons came from, then I guess we'll have time to discuss this." Astrid nodded at my words and she turned her Scauldron around and went back to her position at the rear of our pack. Jack, Rapunzel and Eugene flew with the wild Scauldrons in the centre of the pack.
I leant down to the Scauldron's head. "Hey buddy," I said in a reassuring tone. "Could you show us you home? Where are you from?" The Scauldron acknowledged my comments and did a dive. The other Scauldrons followed close behind.
He landed in a clearing on the Hogwarts side of the fence, close to the lake. Everyone dismounted their dragons on my orders. The Scauldrons slipped into the lake, disappearing under the water.
"So, you've finally come looking for who sent those Scauldrons, Hiccup? and brought friends too. How nice."

Astrid POV
The voice loomed out of the shadows, overwhelming and powerful. It was a woman's voice, one of authority. I squinted into the shadows, looking for the figure, but I couldn't see anything.
Rapunzel pinched me on the shoulder. "Can you see them?" She asked. I shook my head, but the figure was becoming more clear. Definitely a woman. She walked forward further.
Her feet came out of the shadows first. They were covered in leather boots, tied with string. They were almost.... Viking-like. Then it was the rest of her. Brown hair, dressed in blue from chest to knee, and a motherly expression. Wait, motherly?
"Remember me, Hiccup?" She said softly. Hiccup stumbled backwards, gasping.
"M-m-m-mum?!" he gasped. He fell backwards, and I ran up to catch him. His eyes were shut, his face once again peaceful.
"Fainted," I whispered. "He always surprises me. Sometimes wimpy, sometimes so strong."
"Know him, do you?" I lifted my face. The face of the woman peered back at me. She lifted her hand in position for a handshake. "I'm Valka. Valka Haddock."
It was my turn to gasp. "Valka who was taken by dragons?"
"I just told you my last name dearie." Valka sassed.
"Burn!" Eugene called from the background. I turned and gave him my ice-cold glare. He stared at his feet as Rapunzel giggled.
"So, why are you here?" I asked her, curious about why she had wanted to meet Hiccup. "Oh, and I'm Astrid Hofferson."
"So, your uncle was the one petrified by fright. Curious. Well, I'm here on buisness with Sagewhisper, but that's all you can know. Top secret. I was heading up to the castle, but got sidetracked by the Scauldrons living in the lake. Then a terrible terror alerted me of the fight, so I sent the Scauldrons up to help.
"Then I was left waiting for the Scauldrons to come back. Though I had a slight idea someone would come with them, my son was not who I imagined." Valka finished. "Who are your friends?" she asked gesturing for Jack, Eugene and Rapunzel to come forward.
"Oh, sorry," Rapunzel sighed inwardly. "I'm Rapunzel de Corona, and this is Jack Frost and Eugene Fitzherbert. I'm a Ravenclaw, Jack's a Slytherin and Eugene's a Hufflepuff."
"I'm also a Slytherin." I added.
"So, would you guys take me to the castle?" Valka asked.
"Sure," I answered, and the 5 of us started trudging up to the hulking silhouette on the hill.
