Merida POV
Dinner finished up and I rubbed my tummy contently. I looked at the table. In front of me was my plate, covered in animal bones from my hungrily eaten meat.
If I looked left, there was Anna, with her new friend, Hans. To my right was Haley, chatting animatedly. I looked up to the table where the teachers were.
There was Professor Frazenheart, Potions teacher and Head of Ravenclaw. Next to her was Professor Farry, Herbology teacher. Next to Professor Farry was Headmaster Sagewhisper's empty seat. I scanned the room. There he was!
He was standing next to a tall boy with a tattoo over his eye. It was like a scratch, but blue. He was handsome, with startling eyes that almost saw right through you. Prof. Sagewhisper was frowning at him. I wondered what he'd done wrong.
Someone tapped my shoulder. I turned, and there was Haley, using almost exactly the same frown that Sagewhisper was using on the boy.
"Were you listening?" She asked, tapping her finger on the table.
"Urrr-" I said awkwardly. I was relieved of answering by Prof. Sagewhisper's amplified throat clearing.
"Listen up everyone! We have a new student!" He exclaimed. "Everyone give a warm welcome to Dagur Deranged!" Their was a few shocked murmurs.
"Dagur was originally a Durmstrang student, but his, um... Parents decided that they preferred the Hogwarts ways of teaching. So now we will sort him! Professor Farry, the Sorting Hat, if you please."
I was confused. We were slightly past halfway through the year. How could a new student come now?
Haley voiced my thoughts. "This is outrageous!" She hissed. "This has never happened, not one year I've been here."
Prof. Farry reentered the hall, Sorting Hat in her arms. She placed it gently in front of Sagewhisper, then retreated back to her seat.
"Pick up the Hat," Professor Sagewhisper instructed. Dagur did so. "Now, put it on your head." I could see Dagur's hands shaking as he lifted it on his head.
There was a long silence. The Hat looked like it was pondering. Everyone jumped as it roared "GRYFFINDOR!".
Slowly at first, them louder and louder, applause filled the room. I watched carefully as he chose his spot to sit. He moved further and further down the table, until he sat next to... ME?! Oh, and Haley.
Wait is this what I think it is? Love in it's own time... a crush.

Hiccup POV
My eyes met with Snotlout's across the room. This was bad. And, frankly, there was only one way to prove that that really was Dagur: Be in a class with him. I shuddered and got out my schedule.
I scanned my schedule. My first class with Griffindor was my fifth period. I breathed a sigh of relief.
What if, I wondered, he's already seen me? Or Astrid? Or Snotlout? I mean, Snotlout's at the end of the Griffindor table, so maybe not...
I signalled Snotlout in our special dragon signals. Snotlout, I said, make sure Dagur doesn't see you. My dragon signals were a little rusty, but I think he got the point.
Should I tell Astrid? He asked.
I nodded, slowly, so nobody would notice. Then I turned back to Eugene and Carlos, Eugene's roommate.
"Guys," I said seriously. "We have a problem."
"Right," said Carlos, stuffing one last bite of chicken into his mouth. He swallowed. "Tell us when we get back."
--- The Next Day ---
"... So really, all that happens before we take action is to find out if that is actually Dagur." I finished explaining to Carlos and Eugene. I had explained all about Dagur, his past, his present and why I was worried he was here.
As I had explained, the crease in Carlos' brow had deepened further and further until it became a frown. Once I had finished speaking, he nodded his head slowly. Eugene, however, laughed.
"Dude, sounds like a sicko," he chuckled. "How come I never worked with him before?"
My jaw dropped. "What?!" Carlos and I exclaimed. He scoffed.
"I was a professional thief until I met Rap. My last mission was to steal the lost princess' crown. Then I could retire in peace, with a castle, and property.
"But this time, I wasn't working alone. The Stabbington Brothers were working with me and we had got away. But I wasn't sharing. I ran away.
"I outran the Brothers and the Royal Coronan Guard and escaped into a clearing. In the centre was a tower. And Rapunzel." He looked at the roof dreamily. then he shook his head to clear it. "But that's another story."
"Look guys, just tell me what you think when we get back for study period." I packed up all my books and left the dorm, the foyer and the common room. I took a deep breath and prepared for the worst.

Snotlout POV (yesterday, when Dagur was introduced)
I turned to face Astrid, signalling random signals to catch her attention. She turned to me, one eyebrow raised. What sort of sentence is wings, tails, attention Hiccup, Snaptrapper? She signalled.
I was just signalling you, I signalled back.
Well, next time, do it better.
Sorry. I was only signalling to say that Hiccup said not to let Dagur see you. He's really worried.
He's worried about me? Oh.
Is something wrong?
Well, yeah. Hiccup and I are, sort of, drifting. You know, somewhere between 'RELATIONSHIP' and 'EXES'. Well, sorry to bother you Snot.
And then she turned back to her dinner. I sighed. Girls were so annoying.
