Annabelle
My thoughts were clouded by the fact that Darcy's father gave indication that he knew.
"I will admit, I wasn't the most devoted husband nor father. I did try occasionally to give your mother as well as your stepmother, all of me. From riches to support. But, everything changed when your mother became impregnated. I could've never been happier. Every man's wish, a pair of twin girls. I changed my ways and became involved with everything in your lives and your mother's. Though, all happiness came to an end. We were notified in July I believe, that, we were no longer to be expecting twins. One consumed the other. Your mother and I, were in a sorrow unfit for men. The day came of her giving birth, and along came Darcy. With big green eyes, like your mother, and in all totality embodied innocence. In sincerity, I couldn't bare the sight of her, and denied her. On the other hand, your mother never gave up the thought of having both of her little twin girls. Your mother was into witchcraft; she casted multiple spells, made countless amounts of elixir, and all in hope of having you back. I still in denial and sorrow, broke the ties of our marriage and contact with you. Your mother decided to go back home by plane, and for what I assume, left Darcy in order for me to grow to accept. Weeks after she left, I received the news of her death. Not only had my wife died, but I was stuck with a child I saw as a monster, and was again notified of the pregnancy of Daniel's mother. It all really seemed like a cycle. Happy marriage, notified of having twins, one consumes the other and the one who's left alive, has a series of defects. Darcy grew up too attached and paranoid. Zayn was phobic of too many things to count. But they both had hallucinations, nightmares and had a friend by their side. Medications didn't help, and I reached for help in your mother's beloved magic. And, I sincerely admit, magic, good or bad, has its own answer ready for you."
As he finished, he sat beside me. Putting the pistol by his side and turning to face me. His hazel irises watched me intently. His gesture indicated he was waiting for a reply. My thoughts and questions all became as is translucent.
"Why did you think magic would've helped you? What was the answer magic gave you?" My voice and tone sedated.
"It was the only thing I had left. Reaching out for the help of doctors or medication was helpless, so I decided to do something that I knew. Magic's answer was that I had to separate your souls."
Separation of souls by magic. Emilee. It all soon became clear. I connected the puzzle pieces, and was met by an overwhelming grand picture.
I pinched the bridge of my nose to relieve a bit of the tension I felt.
"Where is Daniel? Have you tried the cure?"
"Yes, he's undergoing the process at the moment. As you understand, he needs solitude. But," His gaze followed me as I paced. I twirled the loose strings of my shirt. My unfocused attention was captured by him as he stood, and placed his hands on either side of my shoulders.
"What did you conclude? I know you've figured something out because you're fidgeting with your shirt, like you used to do as a child."
"Jason and Emilee are the ones behind this mess. Remember when Lindsey ran away? She called me once and throughout the phone call, it sounded like she was trying to keep quiet. Lindsey didn't want this all after all. Lindsey just wanted her parents and family united. I remember mother used to talk to Emilee and they would discuss magic. The difference mother's magic and her's, was that Emilee worked with dark magic. Mother knew that, but she took the risk. Nor did she take under consideration Emilee strength and vengeance. And, what makes this all worse is that, I don't understand why Emilee is so desperate to help Jason."
My father's mouth held ajar, and his vision was glazed.
"Daniel's life, as well as all of yours, was thanks to Emilee. Emilee is in control of the strings creating your drawing breaths. Emilee has probably reached her limit of watching others with children that were all made thanks to her, while she doesn't have any of her own. That's where Jason comes to play. Jason may be the only one able to impregnate her. Little do they both knew the keys to the gates, are they, themselves." His voice was raspy and his eyes seemed nebulous.
The door of the bedroom creaked open, and in stumbled a sickened Daniel. His lips were slightly parted and his eyes shadowed. His gaze was hazy, and his gestures weak. I stood to help him by, but weakness casted over my limbs. My breath hitched and it began to feel shallow.
We gave each other glances and looked at my father.
"She's begun her work." His words barely audible.

The book is coming to its end!
I have revealed the main cause of confusion, followed by the introduction of characters. The keys are figuratively Emilee and Jason.
I'm planning on maybe uploading a chapter which will list all the characters, with their on summaries. Maybe? Comment if you think that would help or, is necessary for understanding!
Thank you very much for your read, please vote and comment!
