Another two weeks had passed, the temperatures climbing lower with each passing day. It felt weird, being able to really befriend people at school (besides Jimin). After Jungkook had talked with Yoongi once more, explaining my situation, the older one at least tolerated me again. Which in turn led to sitting at their table at lunch, giggling at stupid jokes and walking to classes together. Everything seemed to take a turn for the better, Seokjin and me having a few inside jokes already – mostly from art class. Even Jungkook's mood had lightened a bit, although he still had an excuse every time Jimin and me invited him to hang out. The cherry on top of everything was Taehyung's suspension for cheating (hah!) on an exam, meaning I was free to do whatever I wanted at school. Life really felt awesome.

"I'm telling you guys, my mixtape will be the next big hit", Hoseok boasted, skipping down the sidewalk, almost slipping on the wet leaves on the ground.

"Mixtape jokes are getting old, Hobi", Yoongi scoffed, Jimin energetically nodding his head in agreement. As sassy as my best friend normally was, around his crush he acted like a lovesick eighth grader.

Hoseok frowned "But I'm serious, I DO have a mixtape"

"Sure", Yoongi shrugged, unlocking the front door of his house.

Seokjin help the door open as I entered, thanking him with a smile.

"Is Jungkook still at school with that project of his?", Jimin questioned and we all nodded.

"Honestly, he has worse grades than me but is busy with school stuff 24/7", I pointed out while taking off my coat. Of course I was still worried. But there wasn't really anything we could do since he refused any help. At least Taehyung was not at school.

"Not everyone's a genius, Yoonyoon", Hoseok ruffled my hair. His nicknames were a bit weird but ever since he had heard me calling Jimin 'Chimchim' he insisted on naming me in a similar way.

We collectively plummeted down onto the couches in Yoongi's living room. I cringed as my phone vibrated. As of now, I just associated notifications with trouble, aka Taehyung. However, it was just Jimin texting me "Suga looks so good today I'm DECEASED"

I threw a smirk at him. My best friend was undeniably whipped for Min Yoongi, or Suga, as people called him because of his pale skin colour. Jimin's interpretation of the nickname was 'Because he's so sweet', but I didn't really feel that.

"What do you guys wanna eat?", Hoseok asked, lazily flipping through the pages of some delivery service's flyer.

"We can just cook something", Seokjin said, leaning his head on top of the backrest "Like some rice, a bit of soy sauce, leftover vegetables...", he started thinking out loud before looking at me, both of us bursting out "and a spritz of depression", immediately falling into fits of laughter. A while ago, our art teacher had tried to describe a famous painting and used this expression, which was only funny out of context.

To me it was not special because of the joke itself, it was special because I got to see Seokjin laugh. Through spending time with him, he didn't become any less amazing to me. Instead, he had claimed an even more special place in my heart. Of course it was still just a crush – that's what I kept telling myself. But whenever he smiled, I wanted to kiss those pretty lips so bad. Oh God. Jimin wasn't the lovesick eight grader, it was me. With a sigh I made my way over into the kitchen, desperately trying to escape my own thoughts.

"Hayoonie, do you think I should send this to Jungkook?", Jimin bent over my shoulder, shoving his phone into my face. It was from one of those stupid snapchat stories 'Send this to the nerd of your group'.

I furrowed my brows "Don't. It's not his fault that he has a lot of work to do"

Jimin bit his lip "You're right. I just want to incorporate him a bit more, even if he's not here, you know?"

Although the thought was sweet, it was indeed a bit difficult to keep contact with Jungkook when he was ALWAYS busy. And it still didn't seem right.

"Yoongi, do you think that Jungkook really has school projects all the time?", Seokjin abruptly asked, forcing Suga to look up from his phone.

He pursed his lips, hesitantly walking over into the kitchen, leaning onto the counter "I think it's none of our business. I trust my brother"

It was an excuse; we all knew it. But Yoongi was indeed right, it was not our life, and each of us had offered help countless times.

"Then Hayoon, will you be my cooking assistant for today's edition of...", Seokjin changed the topic, leaving a dramatic pause at the end for all of us to fill "EAT JIN!"

We giggled, Seokjin's love for food was well known and he played into the joke quite often. Still smiling absentmindedly, I almost didn't notice the vibration of my back pocket. My throat immediately went dry. "Yoonyoon, you ready or what?", Hoseok nudged the top of my head.

"Sure", I agreed, hastily locking my phone again.
