Chapter 3. The Barracks

Kate, Sayid, and who I think is miles came to the barracks looking for Charlotte.

They locked Sayid in a room with Ben. They have Sawyer watching Kate.

In the end, they let Charlotte and Sayid go, Kate stays here and Sayid traded Miles for Charlotte.

We have showers, food, beds, and a roof over our heads here in the barracks.

I live in three bedrooms with Hurley and Sawyer. Claire and Kate share a house also. Locke as Ben locked in his basement as a prisoner

I knock on Locke's door because he's living in Bens house.

"I need to talk to Ben"

"Why?"

"Because he took something of mine and I want it back"

"Look why don't you let us in so we can get her necklace back" Sawyer says

Locke lets us inside his house.

"I want to talk to Ben" I say

"No way in hell" Sawyer says

"I need to ask him questions, I won't let him inside my head"

"Fine"

I go down to where Ben is.

"Hayley surprised to see you"

"Look I'm gonna cut to the chase, why the hell is my necklace so damn important?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you"

"Try me"

"Your necklace is like the soul of the island, it glows because the island is fine right now but if it ever stops glowing, we're in big trouble. You believe me?"

"It sounds absolutely insane, but I've seen how you look when you lie and that wasn't it. Where do you put it?"

"Look at my bookshelf" 

I walk upstairs to see Sawyer and Locke awkwardly sitting on the couch. Sawyer looks relieved when I come up the stairs. 

"So Shorty did he tell you why it's so important"

"Well James if I told you, you wouldn't believe me but if I told you, Locke, you probably would"

I walk over to the bookshelf and I find a little chest, I open it and there's my necklace

It feels great to have my necklace back for a while it always felt like something was missing.

Sawyer is reading a book and Hurley and I are at the tv trying to pick something to watch.

"So what do you want to watch, Xanadu or Satan's Doom?" Hurley asks Sawyer 

"I'm reading"

I put in the movie and it's a little louder than expected. 

"Will you turn that thing down damnit"  Sawyer says 

" Sorry" I say sarcastically

There's a knock at the door, Sawyer gets up to open it and its Kate.

"Hey" Sawyer says 

"Can I come in?" She asks 

Before Sawyer could answer she walks in.

I give Hurley a look because we both know about their confusing relationship 

"Sure. I believe you know my roommates"

"Hi guys"

"Hi"

"Hey, Kate"

Hurley winks at Sawyer.

"Got something in your eye, Hugo"

I can't hold back my laughs.

"Whats so funny, Shorty"

"Nothing"

"Why don't we talk in the kitchen?" Sawyer says to Kate.

Kate ends up getting banished from the barracks for trying to let Ben go.

I'm watching Hurley and Sawyer play horseshoes and Sawyer throws it and is pretty close to making 

"Beat that" Sawyer tells Hurley 

Hurley throws it and makes it perfectly and Hurley and I laugh.

"Son of a bitch! How'd you get so damn good at horseshoes?"

"I don't know, guess I'm just lucky"

Then we Ben walking around free.

"What are you doing out?" I ask

"See you guys at dinner" He says 

And then he walks into the house next to ours.
