Kate's POV

Why are you not wearing them ?"Josh asked across our dining room table

Wearing what?," I asked a bit confused

Wearing the earrings I give you, why are you not wearing them?"he asked as I raised my hands to my ears confused as to why it hadn't come to my mind to wear them

And why I even decided to wear my hair in a ponytail making it so obvious in the first place

After yesterday charade at school, Josh invited me out for dinner, telling me to dress fancy  , Which I did obviously, but I kind of forgot the most important piece to my dressing, the diamond earrings he gave me yesterday

I forgot to wear them,I'm sorry," I said smiling noticing a brief look of hurt on his face, I would definitely make it up to you

I took his hands and squeeze it, as if I was trying to reassure him of something I wasn't sure of myself

He smiled slightly, pushing a plate of pasta salad with chicken , which I ordered in my direction

I noticed the gloomy look on Josh's face, so I placed my hand on his cheeks making him look at me

it was a mistake, I promise to always wear them next time "I said kissing him lightly

He surprised me when he became all serious instead of smiling and kissing me back like he always does

Do you love me? He asked out of the blue looking into my eyes searching for something I just couldn't place my hands on

My heart jumped making me remove my hand from his, leaning against the seat

You know I do, I only love you, "I said trying so hard not to speak what my heart was trying to say

Why do you ask," I said with my voice trembling with every word

I noticed you yesterday, after what I said to the whole school, your eyes were on Zane and only him.... So why are you lying to me

I'm not lying Josh, what's this about anyways ? is this about me not wearing the earrings?" I let out

No is not, I just want the truth," he said sounding a bit frustrated

I stared at my table and began playing with my food, I didn't want to talk about this. Is bad enough that I was already having doubts about our relationship

But I decided to push those thoughts away from my mind, trying to make things perfect between us

I want to be with you that's all that matters, "I smiled kissing him.  

He leaned forward kissing me back lingering on my lips for a few seconds before he pulled back, I love you, you know that right," he said smiling

I returned his smile, happy he is trying to ease the atmosphere between us.

An hour later we were done with dinner as we made our way to his car and soon enough we were on our way to drop me off at my house

Josh needed to refill his trank so he slowed down heading for gas station at the side of the road

We soon parked in a large parking space which was almost completely empty, he turned off the engine and unbuckled his seat belt

Do you want anything? there is a store over there," he asked

Yes please, Chocolate chip cookies with a can of whip cream, "I  said smiling

He chuckled a bit, OK then I won't be long

I nodded my head in response as I watched him get out of the car and walked into the store

I exhaled lightly, as I replayed Josh's words in my head

Of course, I love him, he is my boyfriend right so I have to love him," I said to myself

So what about Zane, do you love him,"my subconscious taunts me with every word

Zane is my kryptonite, my pain and my destruction, the more I love him the more my hearts bleed and I knew that

But Josh  was  my peace, my tranquility and everything with him is just easy and easy is what I needed right now

I just have to pull myself together, I had to..." I said as I squared my shoulders looking out the window

Suddenly, I heard a motorcycle tires pull up at a distance, so I turned around towards the direction of the sound, I saw 4 motorcycles pull up and I quickly noticed one of the bike looks awfully lot like Zane's...

OMG!," Zane's here..... My heart began beating awfully fast and all my senses where suddenly alert

What the hell is he doing here", I swallowed hard when I noticed he was with 3 other huge bodied men and a girl getting off their bike and walking into an abandoned building

Why was Zane walking into that building with those sketchy people, "I asked myself

Was he in trouble ? or maybe those people kidnapped him, so I consciously followed them just to be sure Zane was alright

I entered into a dimmed lighted room, bathed in red light coming from the recessed linear lights in the ceiling, the walls were full of cracks on the edges and smelt really bad

I looked around the room filled with  sweaty men yelling and screaming, I looked around the room for any sign of him, moving forward into the crowd I could hear the screams becoming louder saying "Kill him, destroy him".

My heart started racing, could Zane be the one been destroyed, all my instincts went into full overdrive, as the adrenaline pumping through my veins as I pushed my way through the crowd

I froze, horrified and sickened at the sight before me, a heavy built guy with muscles everywhere I could think of, was throwing punches at Zane, it was so raw and violent, that for a moment I couldn't believe my eyes. 

Is no one seeing this, why are you all screaming for this, why can't someone do, "I yelled but no one seems to listen

I brought my gaze back to Zane, feeling agitated every second, I curled my fingers in fear and insecurity.

What do I do? He needs my help, should I call the police, but what if Zane gets arrested in the process? What if they get here late and that guy kills Zane before then," so many unanswered questions hovering around in my head

I needed to help him!But how do I do that? I asked myself

That guy was crushing Zane, but Zane managed to push him off him catching his face with his fist, but the guy recovers quickly bicycle kicking him really hard to the floor

The guy picked Zane up, but this time given him an up-cut that sent Zane flying over the room

This really bad.

My whole body went into full commando before I could even figure out what I was doing, I was running heavily towards them

What do you think Kate would do to save Zane?
