Kate's POV...

I lunged at the guy before he could walk over to Zane, grabbing his long hair twisting it really hard as I can

"Leave him alone, you son of a gun!!!" I shouted twisting his hair, even more, I used my nails to scratch his back until I could see blood on my fingers

The guy shouted in pain picking me up from his back so effortlessly, making me look at him."Who is this crazy woman?" he shouted pushing me to the floor, "I shivered as I stared back at the guy  in front of me

"Oh God, what have I done?... Am definitely done for," I said to myself

You messed with the wrong guy lady," the guy said loudly with a corrupted satisfaction on his face.

My legs and back burned as I waited for what's to come,—all of sudden Zane lunged at the guy again, grabbing hold of his hands and twisting it, he brought his knees into the guy's groin sending him to the ground again, Zane punched him hard in the face and drew a whole lot of blood the spurted out of his mouth and nose making him pass out instantly

"Everyone screamed and shouted, "He won the new kid won," as Zane raised his hand in victory collecting money from a guy in a black leather jacket

Why is Zane been paid for beating that guy? I asked myself

"Kate!!!" Zane mouthed breathlessly as his bruised body walked up to me, it took him only a moment to snap out of his wide-eyed shock when he realized it was me 

I flinched when I looked up at his bruised up face up close. The blood was trickling from above his brows, nose, and mouth, and I swallowed hard, feeling sick by the sight

He just glared at me without saying a word, his veins popping out from his neck as he wiped off the blood on his face with the back of his hands, never taken is eyes off me

"How stupid can you be Katty," he snarled at me approaching me slowly stopping a few inches away from me, his body hovered dangerously above mine as he stared down angrily at me, breathing heavily

He was so close to me for the first time after a long time and despite the anger, he feels now, my body began to buzz in the ever-present contract of emotions

"Why the hell are you here ?", you got your stupid ass into something this dangerous, that is even not your business,— Why the hell Kate, "...he shouted angrily

I hunched, taking a step back from him, his anger was hurting me, I was down here because of him, I tried to save him from that guy and this is what I get. I didn't need his gratitude, but I didn't deserve his disrespect either

"I can deal with my own shit, so I didn't need you coming down here to save me if this was your way to try to get on my good side, then just forget it," Zane said glaring hard at me

"He didn't just say that," I screamed internally

This was unbelievable, he considers me the worst being to ever walk the face of the earth, how could he think I did this with a hidden intention

I wanted to tell him so many things, I wanted to tell him he was wrong, and to convince him of my good intentions, I wanted to tell him it was all about him and I couldn't stand him being hurt in any way

But it was pointless at that moment, with how he is feeling now anything I said to defend myself would be useless, he mistrusts me and there is nothing I could do about that
