This is it, the Apocalypse

Chapter 14

I walk up stairs to see Sky asleep. I sign and look down at her sleeping and go into Brice's room he's all packed up.

" Hey " I say standing in his door way.

" Hey " he says back stoping what he's doing.

I can't help it the tears just fall out. Like they have been building. He runs over shutting the door and raps his arms around me rubbing my back. I just sob in his arms.

" Are you sure you want to do this?" he says whispering in my ear.

I just nod my head this just made me want to leave even more. I like Axel too much to stay here. We stay like am this for a while. I pull away looking at the watch on his wrist. 9:07. 3 hours.

" Get some rest I'll wake you in a few " I say walking out of his room. I walk down stairs I think every one went to bed I walk to the kitchen and grab some crackers and a water bottle and sit on the counter. When a thought popped in my head I had to do something so they wouldn't go looking for us I'll right the boys a letter. I grab a flash light to find some paper and a pen I go through draws and find a junk draw were there's a bunch of pens and a pad of paper. I begin to write I write on to the boys and one too Axel alone which took me longer to figure out what to say. I placed one on the counter and in tip toed to Axels room were I heard him snore softly and I place it on the night stand and sneak out.

Midnight

" Hey get up " I say shaking Brice he then jolts up.

" Time to go " he nods and gets up.

I walk back into my room and wake up Sky she pulls her bag on her back and waits in the hallway with me. Brice comes out with Willow and Dametre bags packed and ready to go I find the keys to my dad's super duty and I sneak down the steps to make sure it's clear. No ones around so we all sneak out the front door locking it and getting in to the truck me and Brice up front and the three younger ones all crammed in the back seat. I start the truck and slowly back out Brice hops out and unlocks the gate then locks it back up and hops back in.

We head down the road back to my house to grab a few things we get there and I pull in and turn the car off I jump out.

" Do not get out of the car" I say as I get out and lock the door.

The walk through the front door and shine my flash light in the house I run to the closet find a big bag and fill it with the rest of the guns and any food I find left in the cabinets I also grab a jacket for me and Sky and will I'm at it I write my parents a letter too and leave it on the fridge telling them that were ok and we love them at that were going to Grandma's house in Maryland. Grab my bag and head out the door I open up the camper shell window a carefully put the bag in the bed if the truck. Shut it and walk back up to the cab.

" Ready??" As we take off for Maryland. Me and Brice take turns driving for 4 hours but we both really tired we reached the WELCOME TO MARYLAND sign and stopped right in front of it I turned off the truck.

" Why don't we sleep in the back?" I say asking every one in the car. We all slowly sneak out of the truck and I open the tail gate they crawl in and snuggle up with each other I lay at the feet of them and close my eyes for a seconds.

I wake up a little while later unable it breath I slip outside trying to catch my breath I think I was having a panic attack I leaned against the truck breathing in the cold December air shivering. I sit on the cool ground with a tire iron I found. The only thing to protect me.

When I see it to big lights a big truck army sized barreling down the road I hid behind a wheel it gets closer and then passes. I exhale.m

'Errrrrr!!!' The brakes screech to a stop.
